Blinking drop light on HP6122 signifies an ink cartridge is out of ink. There are two cartridges -- color (larger of two) and black (smaller of two). Blinking drop light only indicates either, but not which. HP6122 service software and print driver are available from HP website http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=83027&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us. HP6122 service software has a printer maintenance utility which includes ink cartridge monitor. Use the maitenance service utility to determine which (or both) cartridge is out of ink. With cartridge replacement, printer should automatically print test page, then reset and be ready for printing from your computer. To clear printed documents from print que, open the HP6122 print que via control panel > printers > double-click on HP6122 driver to show que > select document tab > select cancel.

Blinking green light

Try disconnecting the computer from the printer and shutting it down by removing the power cord and then also shut down the computer for a minute or so and then reboot it and check in "Printers" and see if it has anything waiting to be printed and if so clear out the queue. Flashing green light indicates that the printer is receiving data from the computer and/or printing so you shut it all down and cold reboot to clear out the computer confusion in both the computer and the printer.

Printer lights can can blink for more than one reason, so the solution can vary. These solutions need not be performed in a specific order, but solutions for the most common issues are presented first.
Blinking lights are often accompanied by an error message on the computer screen, which might help determine the solution.

I had a paper jam and I have removed the paper but I still have a problem. the little tear drop looking light underneath the top button is flashing and it wont print. what does it mean and how do i fix it.

The teardrop looking light is the Print Cartridge Status light.

If you have already removed the paper and still this light is blinking, then make sure you close the top cover. If it stops blinking, try to print again.

If not, then try the steps on this link.

It has the steps on how to make sure that the carriage can move freely.

I hope this helps!

All lights keep blinking!tried unplugging and reinstalling.Dead?

If the Resume c00121686.jpg light continues to blink and the print cartridge cradle does not move to the right side of the printer, try these solutions:
  • Remove and reinstall the print cartridges. Verify that the print cartridges are in the print cartridge cradle before pushing them forward into position.
  • Verify that no obstruction prevents the print cartridge cradle from moving freely on the rod.
  • Verify that the vinyl tape has been removed from each of the print cartridges.
If the problem persists, contact HP Customer Care.
