I cannot connect. I keep getting a message "authentication Failed"

Do you connect your PC to router in an administrator role using web browser? Or do you connect some device to Wi-Fi network?

Administrator role: You need to have correct login name and password for admin access. Search in manual or ask Google for default login name and password of your router type. If non-default password is set in the router then you must reset router setting and erase its settings to default (factory) status. You will lose all router configuration but default password is back.
Wi-Fi client role: There are more possibilities why authentication fails in wireless communication. Mentioned error message describes what kind of problem occurred.
(a) A password you put to client device does not match the wireless network password which is set in router. Your computer, tablet or smartphone WI-Fi interface must have exactly same password as WI-Fi network which is transmitted from router. Check and compare passwords on both sides, in client device and in router.
(b) Client Wi-Fi interface security (encryption) mode differs from Wi-Fi network encryption used in router. But the same mode must be set on both sides (client and router) for successful connection.

Encryption modes are

WPA2 Enterpise
WPA2 PSK ("home")
WPA Enterprise
WPA PSK
WEP
No encryption (open)

Higher position - better security. Enterprise Wi-Fi modes require security devices like authentication servers, certification authorities etc. They are not used in home networks usually.

How do I connect my iPod to My Network

When you enable WiFi on your iPod Touch, the device scans the area for available networks and displays a list of results. From there you can connect your home network or Wi-Fi and use the Internet to email, instant messaging, Web browsing and other applications. 1. Touch the "Settings" icon on the home screen of the iPod Touch. 2. Select "Wi-Fi" menu item. 3. Move the slider at the top of the window of the "Off" to "On" position. The phone will scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks. 4. Tap the name of the network you connect to your iPod Touch. 5. Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network you selected with the keyboard on the screen. 6. Tap "Done" to connect to Wi-Fi network using the password you entered. When the Wi-Fi icon appears on the top screen of the iPod Touch, you'll know the connection is successful.

Connecting your Acer laptop to your home wireless network is fairly simple.
Before you begin you need to know the SSID broadcast name (Wi-Fi) network name and security passphrase (Wi-Fi network password).

Move the Wi-Fi switch to the "On" position.
Not all models have this switch.

Open the Windows Start menu and select "Connect To."
A list of available connections will appear.

Select "All" from the drop-down menu to view all available networks and connections within range.

Select the desired network and click "Connect."
Enter the security passphrase if prompted and click "Connect" again to join the network and gain wireless Internet access.

Not positive but think you will have to unregister the Kindle and then re-register it. You will lose everything.

Receiving pictuer messages

I have had this same problem with Straight Talk before.

First, I would call them up because it would appears that sometimes, Straight Talk does not turn on the internet/picture messaging when doing the activations and they go amiss.

If you have wi-fi in your home or, if you are in a wi-fi hotspot, I would try sending a picture when you are own your own wi-fi or in a wi-fi hotspot. To do this, make sure your "Wi-fi" is turned "On" in the settings menu on your phone.

By having the "Wif-fi" turned to the on position, you can also save on your data usage by using your own wi-fi and various hotspots so you are not eating up your own data. I'm always surprised at how many people do not know this.

So check to see that "Wi-fi" is turned on in your settings and, send a picture over your wi-fi or a hotspot wi-fi. If you are able to send a picture over your wi-fi or hotspot wi-fi then you know that it's a problem with their network and at that point, I would cal Straight Talk and tell them that you are unable to send or receive pictures.

The password that my Iphone required was the 20 digit key located on the sticker as WPA-PSK. Hope this helps someone!
