Zoom wont work - Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P72 Digital Camera

I had a similar problem on a Kodak Easyshare camera. The gear merchanism for the Zoom had jammed. I know it sounds drastic, but I fixed it by pushing in on the lens assembly until is snapped back in place. It could be a bad motor or bad motor driver circuit too.

There is control switch block that has zoom/wide switch along with play, rewind, forward, stop, pause buttons and this switch block flip up and down while ejecting/ load tape in camcorder, this will be replaced as zoom/wide switch got defective and sending continues command of zoom to system control chip.

Reset the camera setting , if the problem still remains than its software problem . due to T90 has no physically zoom out.

Just check the Mega pixel setting of your phone . You will find that setting in your camera settings. just lower the pixels and You will be able to zoom the pics.

make sure the resolution on the pictures you take is not set to high if it is it wont let you zoom if you set it to medium quality it will give you a bit more zoom options

double-check the battery first, as zoom needs more power.

if battery is ok then there is possibility of loose connection/ dry solder inside or some component gone faulty.
contact your vendor or kodak support if still in warranty.

Will not eject!!! I have put in a fully charged battery and tried to eject it, it will not open at all. Please help me out if you can.

An E:61:10 error means Zoom operations fault Inspect the lens block zoom reset sensor.
You can try to do a manual reset on your camera. If that doen't work it will probably have to be sent in for service.

You have a one year warranty with Canon, you should have all the information about shipping it to them in your original box.

Oh I'd love to be able to see this one. OH well. What batteries are you using? If they are ordinary alkaline, then you should get a set of NiMH rechargable batteries. (As strong as you can find) If the problem continues, taale the camera into Nikon and send your friend the bill.
