I recently had to replace my hardrive with a newer one due to hardware problem and I am unable to star/tuse Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 17 Deluxe despite having transferred data from the old to the new hardrive. I had bought the software online directly from Broderbund. Not being an IT expert doesn't help but all I need is to be able to use the software again.

Assuming you have not switched to Windows Vista with the new hardrive - as Mavis Beacon 17 does not work in that platform - then-
it sounds as though the file is corrupted. I would uninstall and reinstall the product. Unfortunately, difficult to do with out a cd or good original disk to start from. If you have your order number or purchase numbers when you bought your download, then customer support should help you get a clean download.
