Check the exhaust to make sure that it is not clogged.

SOURCE: I HAVE A MAYTAG ATLANTIS GAS DRYER STOPS HEATING ABOUT 5 MINUTES IN

the flame going out is normal. the heat cycles on and off as called for by the thermostat. If the heat doesn't come back on i would start by changing the gas coils.

SOURCE: Maytag Epic dryer won't start

hi there,

if it beeps it means that the keypad is sending a signal to the control board to start it but it doesn't. since the control board sends a signal to the motor to start the dryer to spin. does the dryer hum?

SOURCE: I have a Neptune Gas Dryer MDG300AW and the flame goes out.

Well, first of all, the flame is not supposed to be continuous... it cycles on and off during the dry cycle because it staying on would incinerate your clothing. However, there are magnetic coils that do often go bad and cause the valve to stop opening after the beginning of the cycle... so you get a flame in the beginning, but if you were to sit there for 5 minutes with the dryer running, you would find that the flame stopped lighting completely.

They are pretty easy to replace... you will have to unscrew the little plastic pieces from the inside edge of the door, and unscrew the hinges and remove the door, then pull the front panel off (pull at the top).

Of course... UNPLUG before opening any appliance.

here's a picture of what you are looking for... they are completely outside the gas line, so changing them is very simple and doesn't require any handling of the gas. they are held on with a small metal plate.

Replaced rollers on dryer put back together door closed but keep getting message that it is not closed and wont run?

In order to replace the rollers you had to take off the dryer front. You probably had to unplug the wires to the door switch which if I remember right is in the top left corner of the front panel. Check those connections to the push button switch. If it is not connected, the door will show as open even though it is closed. Or the switch got damaged and is not making contact inside when door is closed. If i remember it is a 3 wire 1 piece plug.It also operates the drum light.

Dryer no heat blowing cool air I already clean the filter

You have one of 3 problems. No gas, high limit switch problem or motor circuit is broken. You will need a professional LG technician to diagnose the problem.
Good luck

I think that the heating element has burned out and I want to replace it. How do I dismantle the dryer so I can inspect the heating element.

Open door. Remove phillips head screws at 5 and 7 O'Clock positions. Close door. Use putty knife to push in clips (2) relaeasing top. (located in seam where top meets front panel) Swing top back. Remove two phillips head screws at top of front panel. Unplug light and door switch. Tilt front panel forward and lift off bottom tabs. Unplug moisture sensor wire near bottom. Set front panel to the side. Look at the small thermostats on the left side of the burner cone. The one toward the front side is a manually resettable one (on gas models), reset by pushing in the little plunger in the center of the thermo. If this was tripped, it means your vent is not adequate.

Dryer is not heating up

LG DRYER NOT HEATING ????? ****PLEASE READ THIS LG DRYER UPDATE!!!!! ****
I READ AND FOLLOWED THE SUGGESTIONS ABOVE AND IT WORKED!!!!! AND I SAVED HUNDREDS! LET ME WALK YOU THRU.
(UNPLUG THE ELECTRICAL CORD BEFORE FOLLOWING THESE STEPS)
1.ON TOP OF DRYER THERE ARE SCREWS ON BACK, UNSCREWING THESE WILL ALLOW YOU TO PULL TOP OFF (IT SLIDES AWAY FROM DRYER)
2. NOW THAT TOP IS OFF, UNSCREW SCREWS OFF OF TOP FRONT PANEL (SCREWS ARE ON BACK OF FRONT PANEL BUT CAN ONLY BE SCREWED OFF IF TOP IS OFF)
3. NOW OPEN DRYER FRONT DOOR AND UNSCREW 2 SCREWS UNDER LINT CATCHER AREA, SCREWS FACE THE FRONT - NOW THE WHOLE BOTTOM FRONT PANEL WITH DOOR WILL CAN COME OFF TO ACCESS THE BOTTOM OF DRYER
4. ON LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF DRYER THERE'S AN AREA WITH WIRES AND PARTS - LOOK TOWARDS BACK ALONG RIGHT SIDE OF BOTTOM OF DRYER (ABOUT 6 - 7 INCHES TOWARDS BACK)
(FLASHLIGHT MAKES EASY TO SEE)
5.LOCATE THE FLAME TUBE WHICH LOOKS LIKE AN OPEN CYLINDER (THIS IS A FEW INCHES FROM RIGHT SIDE TOWARDS CENTER OF DRYER) - ON THE LEFT BOTTOM SIDE OF THIS FLAME TUBE THERE ARE 2 SETS OF WIRES (1 IN THE INSIDE OF THIS FLAME TUBE AND 1 ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FLAME TUBE) THE 1 SET OF TWO WIRES THATS INSIDE OF FLAME TUBE IS WHERE YOU WILL BE LOCATING A "BUTTON OR PIN SWITCH" - THIS WILL BE RIGHT BETWEEN BOTH WIRES (MINE WAS BLACK COLOR BUTTON ON A METAL PIN).
"PUSH / CLICK" THIS BUTTON BUT MAKE SURE THERE IS NO NOISE AROUND YOU BECAUSE YOU NEED TO HEAR TO MAKE SURE YOU HEAR A "CLICK" SOUND - I MISSED IT BUT ONCE CLICKED IT WONT CLICK AGAIN BUT ITS OK CUZ IT WILL WORK).
6. BEFORE PUTTING EVERTHING BACK TOGETHER I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU VACUUM OUT ALL LINT/ DUST BUNNIES FROM THE INSIDE OF THE AREA YOU WERE JUST IN (AROUND THE FLAME TUBE). i EVEN UNSCREWED THE OUTSIDE OF LINT CATCHER TOOK IT OFF (EASY) AND CLEANED IT. I ALSO VACUUMED THE BACK OF DRYER WHERE EXHAUST COMES OUT AND VACUUMED THE VENT THAT GOES TO WALL AND THE VENT GOING UP TO MY ATTIC AND MADE SURE THE AIR FLOW WAS GOOD THROUGHT THAT WHOLE AREA (SHOP VAC WORKED GOOD CUZ YOU CAN USE IT TO VACUUM BOTH BY SUCKING AND BLOWING AIR INTO THE AREAS WHERE VENTING / EXHAUST OCCUR).
7. PUT ALL PARTS AND SCREWS BACK, PLUG IN AND TURN DRYER ON WITH WET CLOTHES IN IT ...

LG DLG2524W DRYER WORKS FINE EXCEPT DOESN'T HEAT UP

1. Open dryer door and remove the phillips head screws at the 5 and 7 O'Clock positions. 2. Remove three screws at very back, allowing top cover to be moved back about an inch and lifted off. 3. remove screw at top left and top right from front top panel. 4. pull plastic front panel along top edge to release front top panel. (watch for sharp edges) 5. Swing top up and over onto top of dryer. 6. Unplug light and door switch. 7. remove four screws at top of large lower panel. 8. lift panel up a bit and off. 9. unplug sensor plug at bottom allowing panel with door to be set aside. 10. gas dryer has dime sized high limit thermostat on left front side of burner chamber. Has two wires on it, with a small pin in the center. Push the pin in. Reassemble and clean out vent, eliminating flexible venting, replacing with rigid aluminum piping and elbows. Outside vent should have a four inch vent flap opening, not just a two inch if it is that style.
