Printing not proper

Hi, My HP Deskjet 3940 has been printing very well for the past 2+ years. Recently the printouts are not clear. Every few lines the printer prints only half the characters. Either the top half or the bottom half. Or the printout is totally unclear in the top half of page and progressively becomes a little clearer. However, characters are still partially cut.

SOURCE: My colour printouts from new

Hello,

There is an update for your printer. This is a firmware update. A firmware update, rewrites code located on the printer's main system board. The latest update is dated 10/17/08.

Flashing firmware does not have a go back element or undo, so it is really important that we verify your model and what seiries of printer you have. I suspect you have a CLP-300 Series printer and that the 310 of the 300 just describes some features added or left off and even who you purchased it from, in many cases.

Please look at these two photos and then post the data off the name plate for your model number in particular.

You will notice there are two lines to include in your reply.
1.) The Model: (first line)
2.) M/C entry (second to last entry in this photo of the label.

Once you verify this and I post the firmware update link for you, you will need to follow the instructions I include below.

Regards,
Worldvet

Samsung has released a new Software upgrade file for print quality, automatic error recovery, and toner save mode on color laser printers.

Deskjet 3940 won't print using microsoft wordpad but works otherw

You will kick yourself !
It drove me crazy for 3 days and I had tried everything ! reloading the software, full system restore and pulled what little hair I have OUT !
I had exactly the same problems my printer which is an HP Photosmart 2610 all in one, would print photos and everything else EXCEPT anything from wordpad, notepad or similar ! the pages were coming out blank !
Wait for it !
The solution is so so simple !
As wordpad docs are only usually in BLACK.I decided to change the colour to blue and lo and behold it worked !
Simply my black cartridge was empty ! upon refilling Absolutely everything printed fine !
Sometimes the most simple solution we cannot see !
I hope this has been helpfull to you..............

My HP Deskjet 3940 will not print, just blinks, HELPPPPP

either of the two problems make the printer blibk. check them out. 1)if you have given the printouts and all the pages are not printed then if there are pending printouts remaing in the printer properties the printer will blink continuosly. 2)any of the 1 cartridge out of 2 may be faulty. and last option if the printer cover is not closed properly it blibks.
rate the solution if it helps. thanks.
