When shooting videos on my nikon p520 i need to know how to make sure that all of the video taken will be continuos as one file and not as seperate files , so when playing back all will be one long video , and how can i fade in or out from one scene to another . i have a camcorder and that makes one long video with no interruptions , can i do the same with the nikon p520 ?

The problem is exactly as described in the message. Windows media player will not playback files of the type .MOV unless you revert back to WMP version 6.4 (current version is WMP 11) and then install the appropriate codec which is available on this link; http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm Much easier and better way to play back files of this type you need different player software - the best being "Quicktime" which you can download for free from this link; http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html If you want a user manual for your camera go to this link; http://www.retrevo.com/search?q=Nikon+L3&terms=review+manual and click where it says "download pdf" I hope this helps, please ask again if you need any help with installing quicktime, enjoy your movies :)
This may sound silly but are your speakers on? LOL also it may not be a good format

No sure what type of files your are recording, usually shown by the suffix to the file name ie:- .doc or .pdf and .jpg but when you have these issues its usually that you don't have the correct coding/decoding software on your PC.
I'd suggest you got to the "Filehippo.COM" website and download a programme called VLC media player, its got pretty well every thing loaded. Or if you want to beef up your current software there's another download:- K-Lite Codec Pack 5.90 (Full).

You can't. You can stop the current shoot, and then start another one. You'll end up with two video clips, which can then be joined together using video editing software on a computer. Remember that the L20 isn't really a video camera, but a still camera with video features grafted on.
