I bougth TomTom ONE yesterday, and it started perfect first time. Then I connected the USB cable to my computer. Since ive done that there is a flashing X on the SD card. And the device wont connect to my computer anymore, my device shows a cable in the device, but my computer only says "connect your device and turn it on". I have reset the device a couple of times. There must have been a OS crash on the SD card or something.
Reset the unit by pushing a bent paperclip or pin into the hole on the bottom marked 'reset' turn it back on, plug it in & charge it via USB overnight or as long as you can in the car, make sure the led on the top is green, tap the bottom right of the screen & check the battery symbol on the unit says charging underneath.
If this doesn't help.

When you connect the TomTom to a modern computer with the USB cable the TomTom will install some software, called TomTom Home and perhaps even a driver. In TomTom Home you can start the registration process, That easy.
Try a soft reset first - hold the on button down for 20-25 seconds to do this. Most of the time this will fix starting issues.
If the tomtom still won't start you need to connect to your computer via usb cable and start tomtom home (downloadable from the tomtom website) - an auto update should fix it if the tomtom is recognised.
If tomtom home cannot recognise it (shows no device connected) contact tomtom customer support who will send you a software reset - then eventually you wil be back up and running!
start tomtom home if it does not start automaticlly when you turn on your tomtom and connect it to your computer..if you dont have tomtom home, you can get it HERE.
if its still not connecting try another usb cable although im not sure in that one disconnects from the home dock on the 910
( i assume your using the home dock because thats the only way a 910 will hook up to a computer)
Connect your TomTom to the USB cable then turn on your TomTom in that order. Go to "My Computer" and open the drive that is your TomTom. Copy and paste your map folder to the desktop. Delete everything on your TomTom (don't format). After deleting everything on your TomTom. Open TomTom Home. TomTom Home will tell you, you need an application for your TomTom. Let TomTom Home load the application. You will probably have to do this at least 2 times to get the latest application for your device. After TomTom Home has loaded the latest application for your device closer TomTom Home and copy and paste your map back onto your TomTom. You should be ready to go after doing this. Make sure you do not skip a step when doing this.
Hook the Tomtom using the USB cable to your computer. You should see the Tomtom drive under My Computer as a drive letter.
Backup all data from the Tomtom to a folder on your computer. Now select the Tomtom drive and right click, select properties, select tools, and then Check now. Allow the computer to fix any problems with the Tomtom drive. Once this is completed. Remove the USB cable and do a reset. Now turn on your Tomtom and it should work.
