Follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
Lid Switch
This is the most common reason for the washer not spinning or agitating. This is easy to check. You will need to remove the switch, this varies with model type but the testing will be the same. When the lid is closed the switch should have continuity when the lid is opend the switch should have no continuity. If it differs replace the LID switch

Timer
To check the timer you will need to refer to the wiring diagram or disassemble to access the motor. Check the leads from the timer to the motor when turned to a wash cycle this should have 120 volts. If not replace the timer if it does the timer is not the problem.

Motor
To check the motor you will need to disassemble the washer to access the motor. First you can check the motor windings, to do this remove the plug and connect ohmeter to terminals. Refer to the tech sheet or service manual for the proper reading. Check motor for shorts by connecting ohmeter to terminals and motor housing should have no continuity. Connect voltmeter to motor wire connector and check for voltage. You should have 120 volts, if you do and the motor does not run replace the motor. If it does not have power the problem is elsewhere.

Belt
If your washer is a belt drive type make sure the belt is tight. Check for black soot from belt wear. Replace if it has excessive wear or broke.

Motor Coupler
This is a fairly common problem with direct drive machines but inexpensive and easy to replace. The Motor Coupler transfers power from the motor to the transmission. The following video will walk you through the replacement of motor coupler

Transmission
The transmission does not usually fail. To check this on a direct drive remove the motor and then turn tub inside. If it spins freely with no noise the problem is elsewhere. If it is noisy it needs replacing this is expensive and depending on the age of your machine you may not want to replace it. On a belt drive remove the belts and spin tub.

Basket is too loose, out of balance easily then doesn’t spin. I also can not use the highest water level. Water sloshes out of the washer on the floor.

humm sounds like you have more than 1 issue
the reason it wont spin is more likely the transmission is going out or completely gone , the basket has like 4 hold down straps to keep it in balance one or more could be broken , water level sensing switch is bad

My WL80t65C has had the RPS replaced, now won't spin the Bowl, does first stage of wash cycle then does not spin the Bowl. Times out. Code 40! Any ideas?

Fisher Paykel Top-Load Washer WL80t65C Error 40
Error Fault Condition
- Spin Basket Will Not Engage Or Disengage From Clutch.
Repair or Check - The spin basket has to be able to rise and fall with the water level. This is to engage and disengage from the clutch. Unplug the washer from power. Remove the spin basket. Remove any objects found between the spin basket and the tub. An object could be interfering with the spin basket clutch engagement. Replace any broken drive components.

I have a GE Adoration WHDRE526E1WW top load washer. It drains and hits spin but will not spin. Lid switch seems to work. When tested the motor kicks on but will not turn the tub. Few times I manually spun...

It really sounds like the belt. You say it's in good shape but if it's loose or shiny from not having proper tension it wont have enough friction between the belt and pulley to actually work. If you've ever tried to move the drum when its full of clothes and water you know how much force id needed to function. Double check that belt tension and working surface.

Washer wont spin heavier loads

If this is a basic top load, direct drive washer, that can be caused by a badly worn clutch slipping under load. An easy way to check is to use a object to depress the lid switch actuator, and operate the spin cycle with the lid open, if the motor is running but the basket is not turning, reach in and give the basket a little help. If the basket starts to spin with assistance, you need to replace the clutch. Also check if the gearcase is leaking oil, if so, replace both, as the leaking oil can contribute to the clutch slipping.

I have a Kenmore washer tube wont move to spin out

Hi, Do you know if the washer agitated at all? If the washer does not agitate or spin, the coupler is most likely the cause. If the washer agitates and does not spin, it could be spin basket drive or transmission.
Please let me know so I can assist you further.

If you have removed the drive belt from the rear pulley and the inner spin basket does not spin freely, you either have a drum bearing seized up on you, or something binding between the spin basket (stainless steel tub) and the outer tub shell. First, you need to reach inside the wash tub with the washer empty. Place the palm of your hand at the 12 o'clock position and push straight up. There shouldn't be any play in the spin basket. If you can feel the basket wobble up and down, you have either a bearing problem, or a spin basket support (spider arm) broken on the back of the spin basket. If there is no play at all, you probably have something caught. Small articles of clothing can sometimes get pulled between the tubs and usually ends up around the support shaft in the rear. This will obstruct the basket from spinning freely and could eventually cause damage to the drive motor, spin basket and/or tub bearings. You can use the instructions for replacing a rear tub bearing that I have posted under my Tip and Tricks for instructions on how to disassemble and inspect the tub. The bearing may not be bad, but you still need to check to see if anything is binding the spin basket against the tub shell and inspect the spin basket supports. Unfortunately, you have to disassemble the washer to be able to inspect any of these items I mention. I hope this helps you.

Kenmore washer 90 series wont spin

If your trans and coupler are good then I would suspect the drive block or spin tube. You will have to remove the trans to change out the spin tube. Take out the basket, there should be 2 ears from the spin tube that nest in the drive block. Attached is a photo to help you understand. Before all this make sure nothing is caught between the basket and the tub. Catriverd8086fb.jpg

Wont spin

Terri, if it was the lid switch, you wouln't be able to drain. If it were the coupler, it wouldn't agitate. Sounds almost like you have something in between the basket and tub, or a nail or something in one of the basket holes stopping the spin. You will need to remove the cabinet and remove the top tub ring to check these things out. I will attach a couple of photos for you to see if this will help you out. If you have nothing holding the basket up then more than likley it's your basket drive which is a pretty hard job...Catriver..post back
