Kettler Treadmill not working right.

If your Kettler treadmill is not working correctly and you have to press Start and Speed + - to start, and it goes back to a pace of 6km/h after 30 seconds, there could be a few possible causes:
  1. Check the control panel: Make sure that the control panel is functioning properly and that the buttons are not jammed or stuck.
  2. Check the speed sensor: Make sure that the speed sensor is functioning properly and that it is not blocked or damaged.
  3. Check the incline sensor: Make sure that the incline sensor is functioning properly and that it is not blocked or damaged.

Cuts off and speed is variable and shows err 4

Precor Error E4, Incomplete Initialization Probable Cause Indicates that an incomplete upper PCA to lower PCA initialization occurred. When this error occurs, all lift motor and drive motor motion is ceased and the display will go blank except for the error displayed.
Corrective Action Run the initialization program. Caution: The treadmill's running belt will accelerate to the treadmill's maximum speed (12mph). DO NOT stand on the treadmill's running belt during the procedure.
  1. Set the on/off switch to the OFF position. Wait a minimum of 10 seconds to allow the internal power supply to discharge.
  2. Remove the safety key from the console and set the on/off switch to the ON position.
  3. Press INCLINE UP and SPEED DOWN keys together. While pressing these keys, replace the safety switch on the console. Continue holding the INCLINE UP and SPEED DOWN keys until the display goes blank. INIT will appear in the time window of the display. The EEPROM is now clear and reset. After a second, 1.25 will appear in the distance/calories window, 15.0 (the maximum incline) will appear in the incline window, and 12.0 (the maximum speed) will flash in the speed/pace window.
  4. Press QUICKSTART to begin the speed calibration process. Power bits will appear in the incline window, the target speed will appear in the time window and the actual speed will appear in the speed/pace window. At the beginning of the process, the target speed will be .5mph. The running belt will start. Once the actual speed reaches .5mph, the target speed will then change to 12mph and the running belt will accelerate until it reaches 12mph, then it will stop.
  5. When the running belt stops, the display will return to the user mode and the initialization process is complete.

I have an E-4 sign coming up on the treadmill. I still dont have a clue how to calibrate it or anything. i bought it over the internet and there was no instruction manual that came with it. i really need...

Dear Sir:
This is guide for software calibration in Horizon. Please see under your Hood for motor the instruction for step in calibration.
Turn the treadmill power to "On." Place the safety key in its place on the treadmill console.

  • 2 Simultaneously press and hold the incline "+" and speed "-" buttons for approximately five seconds: The console will beep and display the software version in either the "Time" window or the "Calories/Elevation" window.
  • 3 Press "Start" and allow the running belt to begin moving. The belt should start at 0.5 mph. If this speed is not the speed your treadmill starts at, adjust the speed cube screw located under the control board. Turn the screw to slowly to the right to increase the speed or slowly to the left to decrease the speed.
  • 4 Verify this speed is correct by counting the running belt revolutions per minute. At 0.5 mph, the running belt should make four revolutions in a minute for the Alpine and Advance 500 models and four-and-a-half revolutions for all other models.
  • 5 Press and hold the "Stop" button for three seconds to exit the engineering menu.
  • sincerely. God bless you.

How does the e3200treadmill fat calories work with the regular calories burnt.

Add incline. Instead of keeping the treadmill on a flat surface, maintain an incline as you walk, jog or run. This will serve to replicate the wind resistance and terrain variation that you encounter when you run outdoors. Keep an incline of at least 1.5 percent on your treadmill throughout your workout.

  • 2 Increase your speed. If you run at the same speed every time you workout, your body will not be challenged and you may reach a fitness plateau. Up your speed by a quarter-mile per hour every few weeks.
  • 3 Vary your workout time. In order to challenge your body in different ways, variety is key. If you run for half an hour three times a week, opt for a one-hour run for your fourth workout. This will help to condition your body for endurance training, resulting in more calories burned.
  • 4 Use intervals. Interval training can dramatically increase your calorie burn in an average workout. Instead of running at a steady pace for your entire workout, mix in sprints. Jog at a steady pace for two minutes, and then increase your speed to a full sprint for 30 seconds. Return to the steady pace to recover. Your heart rate will rise on your intense sprint intervals and stabilize on your longer recovery periods.
  • 5 Incorporate incline into your interval training. You can use incline in the same manner that you would speed to interval train. Walk or jog at a 5 percent incline for two minutes. Increase the incline to 10 percent for two minutes and then to the 15 percent maximum for one minute. Decrease the incline back to 10 percent for two minutes and finally back to 5 percent for two minutes. Repeat this same pyramid interval a few times.
  • 6 Wear a heart rate monitor. This will monitor how hard you are actually working as well as how many calories you burn in each workout. You can then adjust your speed and incline accordingly to maximize your calorie burn.
  • 7 Drink plenty of water before, during and after your treadmill workout. If you are dehydrated, you won't perform as well as you can. You'll work harder and burn more calories if you're hydrated

I have a MC2100-12A motor controller in this treadmill. The LED blinks quickly like communication is ok but it doesn't control right. The speed sensor also looks ok. When 1mph is selected it runs at 2.7mph...

The speed sensor on these machines have nothing to do with controlling the speed. The machine will run without it. The sensor is obviously working, since you are getting a speed reading.
The calibration is a mechanical adjustment found on the motor controller, the instructions are found under the lid as well as the meaning of the LEDs flashes on the tech sheet..
Follow the calibration procedure. If the operation is still erratic, I would suspect a defective controller.
Calibration: Press stop and speed up. Install the safety key/magnet. release the buttons. Press stop 1 time. one window displays speed, the other the calibration number. Both should be "0".
Press speed up, the treadmill should begin to move around 25-30. increase to 85, the machine should be a max speed. adjust the pot on the motor board to max speed. Some machines are 10mph, others 12mph. The tech sheet will tell you the max speed. When adjusted, press speed down. the machine will stop. Now press incline up. That will calibrate the incline. When completed, remove the safety key.
If operation is still erratic, change the motor controller.. It could be the console, but the cost of replacement makes the repair in most cases uneconomical..
