That depends on the lens mount. Tamron makes lenses for a variety of cameras. If it has a Nikon mount, it fits onto the N2020 just like a Nikon lens. If it has, say, a Canon mount, then it won't fit at all.

Could I get a lens mount for say an Nikon D50 and have it work on the N2020?

  • kakima Jul 12, 2013

The D50 and the N2020 use the same Nikon F mount that Nikon has been using since 1959.

That's what I thought but I didn't want to buy it and it not work then have to ship it back. Thank you this was very helpful!

SOURCE: Tamron 28-300mm Model 185D Auto Zoom on Nikon d40

Autofocus function on the D40 only supports lenses with the
AF-S feature, which have an autofocus motor built into the lens,
instead of using an autofocus motor drive built into the camera.

The Tamron lens you have, does not have a built in motor and
the autofocus function relies on the motor drive in the camera.

It will not work with the D40 or D60, but it will work with other
Nikon digital SLRs, such as the D80. Need to get an AF-S
type lens or upgrade to different Nikon digital SLR. Unless
you do this, you will have to manually focus the Tamron lens.

All of the Nikon DX (for digital) series lenses are also AF-S
type, so they will work with the D40, which is designed as
an entry level digital SLR, therefore it is intended primarily
for use with DX lenses, which are typically sold in a kit with
the D40. Most common one is Nikkor 18-55mm DX AF-S.

Other Nikon AF-S lenses made for film cameras (FX type)
will also work with the D40, but these tend to be expensive
professional models. DX series lenses tend to be more
affordable. You might consider the 18-200mm DX AF-S
as an alternative to the Tamron, but these are not cheap.

SOURCE: I have a Nikon d3000

The Nikon D3000 does not have a focusing motor built-in, relying on the lens to have a motor. The Tamron AF 55-200mm does not have the necessary motor; it only auto-focuses with Nikon cameras that have the motor in the camera body.

For Nikon lenses, you need lenses designated AF-S. For Tamron, you need lenses designated USD and/or BIM.

That probably wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

Does tamron 80-210mm work for Nikon d90

Tamron makes their lenses with a variety of lens mounts. If your lens has a Nikon mount then it will mount onto the D90.

"I also purchased a Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter, Tamron Adaptall II Lens to Nikon Camera. The Tamron lens still will not fit

What mount do you have on the Tamron lens? (The built-in mount.) If it has a Nikon mount, you don't need an adapter at all. If it has the Adaptall mount then the adapter should fit onto the back of the lens, then the combo should fit onto your Nikon camera. If the lens has a different mount then nothing you can do will make it fit.

Does the adapter fit onto the lens?

What's your pwill Tamron AF 1780 Lens 80mm - 210 work on a sony 200A dslrmmroblem?

you need a proper t2 adapter. when you remove the m42 adaptor on tair lens, you can attach the proper t2 to nikon adaptor on it. check my tair 300 photo. it has "t2 to m42" adapter on it. please be sure that find the correct adapter. i bought several adapters to find the correct one. one of them was different than t2 adapter but looking alike and sold as t2 by seller. it is hard to find the correct adapter. i guess there are variants of that standard(which is odd).

Tamron 14mm 2.8 does not work on d90

This lens is compatible with your Nikon D90 according to this site:

http://lenshero.com/lens/Tamron-14mm-f2.8-IF-Nikon-f-lens

Your complaint "does not work" is rather broad, so I don't know what specific kind of problem(s) your having with it.

If you continue to have issues with it, make sure other lenses work on your D90 to eliminate the body as the source of the problem. Consider performing a 2 button reset on the D90 (and resetting any other customized settings to defaults) and try again. If it still "doesn't work" then contact Tamron to evaluate the lens for possible repair.

Good luck!

How do i attach my sigma lens to my nikon d300

I'm going to assume the Sigma lens has a Nikon mount. If it has any other mount then it won't fit on a Nikon camera.

Align the mounting mark on the lens with the mark on the camera body (at about the two-o'clock position). Push the lens into the mount then twist the lens counterclockwise until it clicks in place.

It's the exact same procedure you would use with a Nikon lens.

Tele converter option for Tamron 28-75mm f2.8

This is a lens for Sony/Minolta cameras. It is not compatible with the Nikon D90. Hence a Teleconverter for Nikon will not work on this lens to mount it to a Nikon D90.
