Washer stops after wash cycle

You have what is called "agitating dogs" there are usually 4 of them at the bottom of the agitator. They have small grippers which lock onto the agitator and agitates. If the washer is ever overfilled or over time filled to heavy this will wear down the nylon teeth on the "dogs". The top of the agitator will spin off, you will see a bolt inside at the bottom, remove bolt and the agitator will pull out. Google "agitating dogs on washer. It will give you pictures for a better understanding. If the belt was broken the washer would not drain, because the belt turns the pump. These dogs are about $5 and honestly easy to install. I have had this problem with two of my previous washers a top loader and front loader.Each time it was a faulty pump that drains the water from the tub after the wash cycle is complete. If the water does not drain from the tub the machine will not go to the spin cycle. Both of my washers were 5 or 6 years old when this occurred. If the washer is only 5 months old it should be under the manufactures warranty. Good Luck.

The teeth on the knob are gone. You need knob. Pull knob out (on pos.) look down on knob& in see clip push clip off to remove knob. Need screw driver

your clutch need to be replaced as does the tub shaft bearings i;m sorry this is not a do-it-yourself job, try to make a deal to trade in your washer

your timer needs replaced

On some models, the drive motor is universal meaning the drive turns clockwise in wash mode and turns counter clockwise in spin mode.
Possibly the motor windings is defective for the wash mode and thus the entire drive motor will require replacing.

I have a GE WBSR3000GWS Model and it stopped spinning at one point as well. My service guy came out and did the procedure below and reset it with in minutes.

How to Reset your GE Washer :
1. Turn the dial like your going to wash a load but do not pull the knob.

2. Unplug the washer from the wall and wait for 30 seconds.

3. Plug the washer back into the wall.

4. Lift the lid 5 times to at least 6 inches high. Open/Close within 15 secs.

5. Pause… You should here a click. If you do not, then repeat 1 – 5 again.

6. Insert a towel or garment into the washer and then pull knob to start the wash cycle.

7. Check the wash cycle to make sure the washer is agiating and spinning during its cycle.

Either your transmission is bad which might carry a 5 year warranty or your lid switch needs replacement

Possible your outlet filter is blocked. This requires cleaning depending on your usage. Clean this out and refit. Good luck. Plug off the wall first.
