The unit does not want to make ice. it seems to make a little ice but only after we swtich the machine to off and then back to on. then it seems to stop making ice..
also, do you have any paperwork on the proper adjustment of the float.
Thanks, Mark
actual unit is a Manitowoc 210 undercabinet ice maker.
The thickness control (Im not sure if its like the bigger models) isa plastic piece that has 1 or 2 metal prongs that as the ise is frozen to the evap plate the water trickels closer to these probes. eventually commin gin to contact with the probe and allowing the board to "see" that the ise is ready for harvest. Perhaps this is set too close?
Or the machine may need a good cleaning. DO NOT USE LIMEAWAY on manitowoc. It has a nickle coating on the evap plate and the cleaner has to have inhibitors in it to keep the nickle plating from flaking off.
From your genmeral information these are a general idea of the 1st 2 things that can cause your problem.
Please ratem me as high as you can and let me know if you have tried anything and the results or if you have more information to add.
Oh yes A little history might help me decide if you need more.
How long have you had this?
Did you buy it new?
Did it ever work for you before?
Is the space it is working in over 85'F?
Is your water temp over 70"F?
Is the machine water cooled?
Can you shine a light in one side of the outer coil and see the light coming through plainly on the other side?
On some models there is a red LED on the control board does this have one?
If the machine is turned off then back on and has a red LED does it blink when first switched on, if so how many blinks?

Turn back the pressure on the water going into your home and or if there is an adjuster on the back of the fridge set it for 1/2 less.
Are you in a house or a flat?

The machine is going off on a safety code. You need a service person to come and fix your machine. It could be a maintenance issue. All commercial ice machines should be cleaned a minimum of 2 times per year by a refrigeration tradesman.
