Tv switches on then switches to standby, the standby light flashes 6 times, could you tell me what is wrong

Un plug tv for 1 hr if that don't work u have a bad cap or 2 on the power supply

I am experiencing exactly the same problem. TV turns on but within 60 seconds the screen goes black and the red standby light blinks six times. Were you able to resolve this problem on your TV?

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

prolly u need the "D" board replaced--common to give error code of 5 to 6 flashes--unplug and wait to reset and try again

My TV (Sony Bravia LCD KLV-32S310A) goes of after 20 seconds when it is switched on. The standby indicator then flashes (red) five (5) times then there is a two seconds break followed by another six flashes then two seconds break etc. What might have caaused this and what should i do?

Sounds like the lamp is bad. Might be time to replace the TV.
