Just got this tv sound is gone just makes good pic can hear the shows

Hi, you have not specified if your tv is still conventional tb that uses crt, or lcd

Might be the bulbs.. try replacing it, or call toshiba support line/ service line.

cheaper to just buy a new tv mate,sounds like the pixels for that half of the screen are gone.

Something has shorted out and is causing the power supply to overload which makes it switch slower bringing the frequency into a range you can hear. With the age of the unit I would bet on the Horizontal Output and flyback having problems. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4916941-diagnose_repair_projection_tv_high which explains the troubleshooting process and where to get parts as well as what to do if the flyback is not the problem. Lamp is probably defective.

the picture tube (what makes the TV picture work) has blown out. Just call you nearest tv reapair shop and purchase a new one. (these are kind of expensive!)

(Also, if it's fifteen years old, i think it's time to get a new T.V. hint. hint.)

On your AV cord theres a switch that changes it from HDTV, to TV

Make sure its switched to TV if your not using HDTV, or switched to HDTV if ur using that. If you need pics let me know I can get you some so you can see where the switch is.


If that doesn't resolve it check your cords, make sure the cords match the colors.

The noise you hear is the degausing coil and n Sony TV's they are an indicator that the main fuse is good. Your power supply has no other fuses to replace. they are not easy to troubleshoot.

My panasonic Tv pic suddenly turned into a blue color I can't see the pic any more just can hear the audio.....any solutions????
