Sony Bravia XBR 40" LCD

I bought the TV about 1.5 year ago everything work great until now there is a thin vertical blue line on the right hand side on all the inputs (TV, Video etc....). It is bothering me when watch TV. Please propose/advise a solution for this problem. Thanks, TH

    I have a thin blue vertical line on my Bravia LCD tv and it stays in all modes.
    Any Ideas?

    i have the same problem of the thin blue vertical line on my tv. i tried the solution posted and it did not work. i have had my tv for two years and it's out of warranty. it seems that it is a lot of us out there with the same tv and the same problem. has anyone heard if sony is taking any responsibility in this common problem. it looks to me that this is a factory issue with this model.

First, HORIZONTAL CENTER.
1) Press MENU.
2) Scroll to SETTINGS.
3) Scroll to SCREEN.
4) Go to HORIZONTAL CENTER. Move the picture to the right. Hopefully, the line will go away. Otherwise, there is a problem with the pixels or the signal processor. Call 1-800-222-SONY. Or, http://eservice.sony.com. Have a high-limit credit card handy for out of warranty repairs. Sorry about that.

Sony Bravia KDL-40w4100 vertical line issue
Ok after over a year i figured out it was the tcon board. Good luck getting finding one. The first one i ordered from shopjimmy was faulty, didn't realize until after the warranty so i ate the cost of it (honestly i thought that it was good and there was another thing wrong with the tv) so i said wtf and bought one last week from ebay. Bam! it works great!!!

I have a Sony 26 inch Bravia LCD tv model KDL-V26XBR1.It has thin vertical black and yellow lines about an inch apart across the whole display. Not noticeable from a distance but really see them up...
Well if the panel is bad it would not clear up in any situation, so its not the panel. most likely the t-con board or just poor connections inside. Julio Millenium TV in Las Vegas.

It can be either the LCD controller board, or worst case the LCD panel, symptom of bad panel is vertical lines from the top to the bottom of screen, and it will get more lines as time goes by.

My SOny Bravia 40 inch LCD TV has a vertical line
Hi,

It could be 1 of 4 things:
1. One of the ribbon cables has worked itself loose (Simple Fix)
2. One of the assembly boards maybe faulty
3. The driver board which feeds the panel maybe faulty
4. The panel is faulty

The driver board in the UK costs approx £70 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

All other parts are between £80-160 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

The panel will cost approx 50-75% of what the TV was worth when you bought it - "Repair versus Replacement"

Thin vertical line
You are going to find it is a LCD panel problem. I am sure that they will take care of you. But also realize that this could have happen to any brand of LCD panel and you will probably not have any other panel issues once it is fixed.

Vertical line on LCD TV Panel
Had this same issue on right side of 52" about 1 inch from side but had 3 vertical lines that disappeared after 40 minutes. Have Samsung LNT5265FX/XXA and about 16 months old. LCD Panel itself had to be replaced to fix it, fortunately had extended service plan

Thin vertical red line
This maybe the symptom of a bad Panel. One Vertically This line is 99% bad panel. Call your warranty provider or SONY tech support if purchased under 2 years.
