Getting a message that my lamp is nearing the end of it's life. I have 4 questions: 1. How long do you think I have until it will burn out. 2. Is there only 1 bulb/lamp that will need to be replaced. 3. The on-line places to buy sell either the bulb only or the bulb with it already installed into a factory housing. 4. Is the installation as simple as opening the compartment on the right side of the TV, twisting the handle to open, pulling it out, and replacing the bulb/lamp/housing and putting it back in.

Along with the instructions for the lamp installation, you should have revceived instructions on how to reset the lamp counter. If not, this operation is listed in the owner's manual. If you can not locate that manual, please confirm your model number and I will post the instructions. Since the counter has not been reset, the TV will continue to show the "error" message.

I just had this issue. I think this solution worked for me. (We'll
see after watching for a few more hours.) The TV was intermittently
cutting off and then turning back on every 90 seconds or so. It was as
though the power was barely breaking contact every once in a
while. Kind of frustrating considering that it is a $1000 TV.
The fix I used is in this thread at the URL below. There is a photo of the problem source. I do not think you need a new $160 lamp. The problem is a little "switch" that makes contact between the lamp and the ballast (power regulator).

The
"switch" is not so much of a switch as much as a thin piece of metal that
makes contact with the lamp. See the photo in the discussion
thread. I bent it out about a quarter of an inch and then reinstalled
the lamp. So far so good.
I will post again if the problem crops up again.

Tv started cutting out. No picture and the green light was flashing.
Then the picture would come back on. Now the picture has quit
and the red light is flashing.
