Question about Kenmore Sewing Machines
A family member borrowed my Kenmore 385.16120200 sewing machine and when they returned it, the needle was broken. I replaced the needle and found it was out of alignment. Now it hits the top portion of the needle plate needle slot. I checked to make sure the needle was installed correctly, but that wasn't the problem. The machine doesn't look damaged, but when you turn the machine sideways and rotate the handwheel, you can clearly see it's misaligned. The point of the needle hits the top portion of the needle plate instead of going down into the bobbin housing. Any guidance would be much appreciated, thank you!
Basically have to bend it carefully back by hand.... if you have a straight edge or even a small leveler (the kind with a bubble) you can check which direction it is bent and gently bend it back a little each time.
