DM Tech 32 inch TV / DVD - remote sensor on TV not working

The remote stopped working - so assumed was the actual controller, changed batteries etc and tried another controller still not working - does this mean the TV sensor has packed up and can this be easily fixed?? grateful for any comment - thanks

many thanks for the replies - the TV functions all work well when using the menu and side switches - problem is not being able to work the tv by remote - the actual controller seems ok as checked, so assume the tv senor has the problem

you can also check your remotes to see if they work with a video camera , camera phone (without taking a picture) , if you hold down a button on the remote you should see the IR L.E.D. on the front of the remote blinking in the camera or video screen..

you would need to find out if the panel with the sensor on is available and also the "crystal and eeprom IC" need to be checked.

does the menu and other functions on the tv work fine ?

The crystal should also be replaced as this is used for the ir sensor circuit also , and any resisors should also be checked for thier values for possible replacement

How to set up my memorex DVD remote to control my magnavox TV?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but according to the manual in the link you posted, and from Google image searching to look closely at the remote, it doesn't appear to be a universal. The only way you can control your TV with it would be via the DVD player hooked into the TV, and then you will still only be able to control the standard functions of the DVD player (i.e. pause/play, stop, FF/Rew, menus, subtitles, etc.) but not the functions of the TV (i.e. volume, channel, power, etc.). Assuming you get yourself a new, actual universal remote to replace this with, I recommend this site in the future: http://www.remotecodelist.com/

I have a 32" insignia LCD TV. My remote stop

You can reset your remote control by removing the batteries, pressing all of its buttons, and installing new batteries. Also, ensure that your TV's sensor is clean and unobstructed. If the problem persists, try using a universal remote control as a troubleshooting step. This will help identify whether the original remote or the TV is at fault.

Remote control rmt b101a stopped working, changed batteries, same thing; did reset by pressing power, TV i/o and vol- simultaneously, still not working. Help!

Hi,

Make sure that the Remote is operating in a range of 3 to 10 feet away from the unit.
Point the Remote directly towards the Remote Sensor of the Device.
Remove any obstacles that may be in the path of Remote and the Sensor.
Make sure that no interference is blocking the Remote to operate normally. Do not expose directly to Sunlight, bright florescent lights etc.
Try resetting the Remote by removing the batteries from the Remote control, press every button twice, and then re-install the batteries after 1 minute.
Make sure that none of the buttons on the Remote control is jammed.
Install fresh alkaline batteries in the Remote, do not use rechargeable batteries.
Make sure that the batteries are inserted by matching the polarity (+ & -).
Try resetting the Blu-ray Disc Player with which you're using the Remote.
If the issue persists, after all the possible troubleshooting steps, service may be required.

My sharp 32" LCD stopped recognizing the remote, b...

I had the same issue with my Sharp Aquos 52 inch LCD TV. I called Sharp. The tech had me unplug my TV, take the batteries out of the remote (TV remote not cable) and press all buttons on the remote (including the buttons under the flip top at the bottom of the remote). I did this, put the batteries back in and plugged in the tv and everything worked. I had gone 4 months having to use the surround sound for volume and turning the TV on and off by hand. This took 2 minutes to fix.

My dynex remote control for 32 inch flat screen stopped working, tried new batteries-no fix, any help? Can I use another or do I have to contact the company for a new remote?

I just called Dynex because I had the same problem. Remove the batteries and press the power button and hold it down for 15-20 seconds, put the batteries back in and try to power on and power off, change channels, etc... if so the remote is fine. The guy told me that sometimes when you need to replace the batteries you also have to re-set the remote control.

Have a new Phillips 42" lcd tv. my cable box remote has been working intermittently. However the white light near the remote sensor on the TV blinks whenever I use the cable remote. after changing bat

your TV and, your cable box both "see" a series of invisible (infared) flashes of light like morse code these flases tell them what to do.one answer is to: buy a universal remote so that you can program a button for each device then when you want to control the cable box just push the "cable" button and, then volume etc. to turn your tv off push "tv" then "off" the service man was right but he should have explained this to you
also your cable remote may be programable to work with your tv like a universal remote check with your cable co.

Vizio remote control not working

Hi, I had the same problem. My vizio remote for my 42 inch 2 month old vizio also seemed to stop working. Here's what I did: My vizio remote (like most remote's nowadays) was designed for multiple components (tv, dvd, vcr, etc). All you need to do to make the remote work again is set it back to tv. Now, the confusing thing about vizio remotes is that they actually have TWO places where you can switch the remote to the appliance you want to control. One is on top of the remote, the other is on the BOTTOM. Switch it back to TV using the BOTTOM. My remote had stopped working because I had inadvently switched it to another component on the BOTTOM component switch.

SENSOR ON TOSHIBA TV/VCR/DVD SEEMS TO BE OUT

I'm sorry, but it's "shop time" for your set. You have lost the clock or voltage going to the interface panel, and that's why nothing works from the remote or front panel...accordianman
