The speakers can be tested with a meter, but if the voltage is different from the USA you may have damaged them instantly if connected to wrong voltage, I presume if I understand correctly it is some kind of surround sound system, voltage in North America is 110=120 volts and 50=60 Hz.

SOURCE: Left Speaker not working

if you swap the speakers and the dead one moves, than it is the amp that is missing a channel,in your case,it is the speaker.
if you try the good speaker in both speaker outputs,it should work on both to confirm the dead speaker theory.
there may be a broken wire in the speaker from shipping.

SOURCE: Hello, We have Bose Lifestyle

Please check if the AC cord of Acoustimass module has a good connection to AC outlet, also check all the connections specially the cable that goes to the system control unit jack, for your reference in the link below you can see and download the manual of your Bose system:

SOURCE: HOW CAN I CONECT THE BOSE TO MY YAMAHA AMP THE ONLY WAY TO CONECT THE BOSE IS TO BANANA INPUTS ON MY AMP AND THEY ARE FRONT SPEAKERS BUT THE AMP HAS A SUB OUTPUT

To enable the full potential of a SUB for Yamaha DSP A5 ,

you need to have

a separate amplifier for your Bose Acoustimass System.

The SUB out should be connected to an active subwoofer.

If not, then check that the BOSE is getting electrical power into it.

Hello,I'm trying to conect 4 speakers(Bose 161,4-8ohms,50w each) and 2 speakers (JBL cf100(3way speakers),8ohms,100w each) to rceiver Pioneer VSX-455, I want to conect all of them at the same time.please I...

Well if you look on the back it plainly says speakers should be between 8-16 ohms.

It has facilities for 2 pairs of fronts (A and B) which could be run concurrently if they met the >8-ohm spec.

The JBL's would work best as primary front speakers.

If you wired the Bose in series with each other, they'd work as one surround speaker 'pair' electrically, maybe even sonically if you arrange them across the sides and/or rear. I'd experiment.

You'll need a separate amp for any center or sub speakers.
