I want talkback on my cobra 29ltd classic radio how do i do this myself

near the middle of the board at rear of radio----hint: all the controls on the board are actually marked with the VR numbers, so just take a look.

Your asking a question i guess.
If you dont have talkback plug your external speaker in the pa port and lower the volume now with the pa/cb switched to pa then key and talk if you have audio the chip is good..
if sill in doubt?
This is the 10 pin chip on the side. When testing this audio chip power up the radio with solder side top cover off use a metal probe with your finger on this probe touch pin 4 and it should squeal this indicates it is good.

1 why would you change the finals?? Have you checked you antenna? How are your SWR's? Crappy antenna's cause a lot of problems.

Use an external meter to see what the SWR is, and see what the output is PEP. If its low, then there is something wrong. If it is High, change the mic and turn up the dynamic all the way.

Next. Have you been messing around in there?? Tryin to get more wattage? You turned VR4? If you thought you were turning it up by turning it all the way to the right, you turned it all the way down. Turn it all the way to the left.

Have you tried using a different mic that you know is working properly? If it still has feedback, then someone has installed talkback. Take the top off, check for a resistor between external speaker and pa speaker ports. Remove resistor if it is there and that should remove the talkback. Hope this was helpful.
