How to backup the configuration for the Symbol Spectrum24 AP
Anyone know how to backup the configuration forthe Symbol Spectrum24 AP? There is no way to do this from the webinterface or from telnet. What I would like to do is create a backup ofthe configuration and be able to restore it to another Symbol AP. Thereis however ways to restore the configuration from the web interface. AmI missing something here??

If your current controller can't see the AP, then the 1020 can only be reset through the Controller it was originally configured with. It doesn't have a console port, so you have to connect it to the old controller and run "clear lwapp private-config"
What do you need to know / what do you already know ? This is a large question.
1. Are all your access points configured
2. For your captive portal you could use MikroTik software. There is a large community based on the software and step by step instructions to setup a captive portal.
You can connect a console cable to the console port and login using a freeware terminal emulation app such as Tera Term Pro. The default password is: Symbol

Use chapter 5 for instructions on creating a new authentication key that will match your computer setting.
on the info i could find it only supports WEP.
but if your issue is to be more secure look up if it supports a sort of mac filter.
this will only keep everybody out of your router but your signal will only be WEP encrypted.
