Computer wont start up.

It starts to turn on then, Windows Boot Manager screen comes up. It says windows failed to start. Insert windows installation disk and restart. It says, file:\windows\system32\winload.exe status:OxcOOOOOOf info:the selected could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt. Do you know what I should do or what I need? Thanks..

You can try booting into safe mode and running a virus scan, but you will probably need someone to come out and fix it. Often if you have another computer or the install disks handy you can sort it out but it takes a lot of experience.

You should have all you need on the windows installation disk, unless this particular file on your startup disk is, in fact, corrupt, as the display says.

This is a sticky problem, which only Microsoft can cure, by swapping your disk for a clean copy. Only a swap will suffice, and since your copy of windows is registered (It is, isn't it? and if not, proceed to register your copy of Windows immediately) I would suggest a phone call to Microsoft to accomplish the exhchange if this is a version of Windows still supported by Microsoft. The board is not an issue at this point.

Windows boot manager

Hit F8 a few times while your computer starts to boot, a boot selection screen should come up. Try selecting "Last Known Good Configuration" and see if you can boot up without running the repair install.

Windows won't start on my new toshiba laptop

If it's reading the hard drive first, as it would appear it is, you need to enter the BIOS and change the order of boot devices so that it looks at the CD Rom first. Your user manual should tell you how to do this, but feel free to leave a followup comment if you want me to go over it.

It's expecting to see the CD to repair windows, but then isn't looking at the CD Rom drive first, with the result that it tries to boot straight from the hard drive and ends up in an unbreakable loop.
