Controller circuit for Hunter ceiling fan bad

Hunter ceiling fan in bedroom, works by remote: fan control (speed/direction), and light (on/off). turned the light on, one of the bulbs goes bad (plink! bright flash & out). Now the lights cannot be turned off. Fan function works okay. Should be an easy fix, but cannot find schematics. The controller board has the number 0445 on it for identification. Would like to troubleshoot down to the component, dunno the cost for a new board, or where to get one. Any help with this issue appreciated. Todd Vallejo,CA [email protected]

If you cannot find a replacement part for a fan then do try Ceiling Fan Direction website. You might get a complete fan at the price of replacement part.

The remote might have wrong orders. Get the battery out and insert it back and see if the problem solved.
Do you set the dip switchs correctly on the fan and on the remote? Numbers set must be matched. Otherwise, the fan won't work either.

Hunter ceiling fan-just installed -possible speed control problem

Sounds like the fan is defective. All internal wiring from the switch to the motor is factory installed. The fan has power going to it. Just to make sure, double check the wiring from the ceiling fixture to the fan.
Problem could be a faulty switch on the fan or faulty motor(bad winding for med. speed). Try reverse switch on the fan to operate the opposite direction and see if medium speed works. If medium does work in opposite direction, it pretty much points to a defective fan. In any case, unless you discover that the ceiling wires were reversed going into the fan, I'd say new fan to the returns dept.

Hunter ceiling fan remote problem

You will most likely need to replace the receiver with a new one from hunter. The receiver is actually a complete controller and contains the receiver, relays (which you hear clicking) and starting condensors(large capacitors which hold a charge that is "dumped" over the windings to get the motor to start from a dead stop). These appear to be pretty tightly assembled unless you have a desire to start replacing parts "off the board."

Hunter ceiling fan is stuck on high speed

If it has a chain, buy a light dimmer switch so it will not have 1 speed anymore. If it has a remote control, buy a new remote control like your old one. Try different numbers on remote control.

Hunter ceiling fan

Sounds like the remote receiver units (located where the mains connect to the fans) took a surge and have failed.
