My washer was on an uneven floor and i attempted to level it out. it kept rocking off the shims i placed underneath it and violently banging back and forth. now when i level it out i'm afraid there may be damage to the tub because even when it's completely level and with only a few items in it, it will set off and spin uneven and make loud thumping noises to the point where the frame is starting to be loosen.
is leveling my only problem or do i need to look at the tub?
SOURCE: becomes unbalanced easily....rocks violently when this occurs
I've been researching this problem with my own performa. So far the only solution I've found that keeps coming up is replacing a part called a snubber. Not sure where that fits in but I'll give it a shot. I've see it go for about $4 - $10 so why not?
SOURCE: Frigidaire was tub makes loud thump noise during spin cycle....
Need more information to make an accurate diagnosis, try removing the front panel (two screws at bottom) and visually check first the belt (all the way around) and then the springs that hold the tub suspended.
I would bet on the belt.

SOURCE: tub is banging loudly on spin cycle . machine is leveled
please check the shock obsorbers and replace them if they are not holding the drum.
SOURCE: During the spin cycle the drum becomes unbalanced and thumps.
I assume that your saying this happens all the time and not just because you have too many clothes on one side of your washer. First make sure your washing machine is level and there is no problem with the feet. If that checks out take the cabinet off the washer and check the tub hold down springs/straps and make sure they are still attached....they can come loose or break. Hope this helps!
This error code indicates that an unbalanced load is detected.
Click the following to learn more about unbalanced loads in the BravosTM washers. The example is for an impeller washer but is applicable to washers with agitators.
Is the wash load balanced? If the load is unbalanced, the washer will display this code while attempting to balance the load at the end of the wash cycle and before the final spin. If the code remains and the wash cycle dial is flashing after the recovery routine has stopped, open lid and redistribute the load. Close lid and press Start/Pause. Is the washer level? Does the washer rock when pushed against the corners? If the washer is not level, the washer may be more sensitive to unbalanced loads. The washer must be level from side to side and from front to back. The front and rear feet must be in firm contact with the floor. Make sure the locknuts are tightened. See the Installation Instructions for details. To remove the error display, press Power/Cancel or Pause/Cancel once.
