Maytag mav7000aww washer is unbalanced and won't spin correctly

My washer was on an uneven floor and i attempted to level it out. it kept rocking off the shims i placed underneath it and violently banging back and forth. now when i level it out i'm afraid there may be damage to the tub because even when it's completely level and with only a few items in it, it will set off and spin uneven and make loud thumping noises to the point where the frame is starting to be loosen.
is leveling my only problem or do i need to look at the tub?

SOURCE: becomes unbalanced easily....rocks violently when this occurs

I've been researching this problem with my own performa. So far the only solution I've found that keeps coming up is replacing a part called a snubber. Not sure where that fits in but I'll give it a shot. I've see it go for about $4 - $10 so why not?

SOURCE: Frigidaire was tub makes loud thump noise during spin cycle....

Need more information to make an accurate diagnosis, try removing the front panel (two screws at bottom) and visually check first the belt (all the way around) and then the springs that hold the tub suspended.
I would bet on the belt.

SOURCE: During the spin cycle the drum becomes unbalanced and thumps.

I assume that your saying this happens all the time and not just because you have too many clothes on one side of your washer. First make sure your washing machine is level and there is no problem with the feet. If that checks out take the cabinet off the washer and check the tub hold down springs/straps and make sure they are still attached....they can come loose or break. Hope this helps!

My washer always gets unbalanced load with 7 minutes remaining.

This sounds like a problem with an unbalanced washer or unbalanced load. Your washer has four leveling rubber screws underneath. To keep it from rocking make sure all four points are touching the floor at all times. Washer machine being level is a great plus. Also it could be the amount of clothes put into the washer. The more clothes you put in the less chance of your load being uneven.

The washer gets unbalanced on small loads that never happaned before a couple of weeks ago. The machine has a unbalance spin load compensator but makes ungodly banging now, that's never happen until...

the problem with small loads is that the tub gets unbalanced very easy,if it spins correctly with a larger load there's nothing wrong with the washer,it's just unbalanced, you can open the lid and move the clothes around by hand to try to balance out the load, very common, also has the washer been moved?check for level,if it was moved one of the legs could have moved to put the washer unlevel,

My washer's digital time screen changes from the time remaining to a symbol that looks like "UL".

This error code indicates that an unbalanced load is detected.

Click the following to learn more about unbalanced loads in the BravosTM washers. The example is for an impeller washer but is applicable to washers with agitators.

Is the wash load balanced?

If the load is unbalanced, the washer will display this code while attempting to balance the load at the end of the wash cycle and before the final spin. If the code remains and the wash cycle dial is flashing after the recovery routine has stopped, open lid and redistribute the load. Close lid and press Start/Pause.

Is the washer level? Does the washer rock when pushed against the corners?

If the washer is not level, the washer may be more sensitive to unbalanced loads. The washer must be level from side to side and from front to back. The front and rear feet must be in firm contact with the floor. Make sure the locknuts are tightened. See the Installation Instructions for details.

To remove the error display, press Power/Cancel or Pause/Cancel once.

If Power/Cancel or Pause/Cancel does not work
Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
Re-select the cycle and press Start/Pause.

Rough, uneven Cotton Load spin cycle

Make sure the washer sits level on the floor and that the machine can't be rocked around due to uneven foot adjustment. The feet usually have rubber cups that cover the metal bottoms--one of the cups may be damaged or missing entirely. Hope this helps!

My washer is perfectly level but during the spin

if you can make it rock by hand or by jumping the legs are not adjusted proper.it can also rock if the floor is soft... then get thick plywood under the washer ....11/2 inch should be good.you should try to balance the load put heavy things in first

Maytag LAT2500AAE- unbalanced

see if it has 4 adjustable feet on each corner on the bottom
get a bubble level from a hardware store and turn the feet to raise or lower OR you could use something else to raise the sides until it is leveled by looking at the bubble level.

hope this helps
