Hunter fan/light with remote installed turns on by itself

Installed a Hunter ceiling fan a couple weeks ago and also purchased the Model #27185 remote. The fan and or lights will come on by themselves during any time of day or night. I've tried changing the DIP settings but does not resolve.
I also have another Hunter fan with remote that does not have any problems.
Any idea whats causing this?

My fan turns on high all by itself approx. 3 to 4 times in the evening hours. It does not happen everyday but periodically. When it does happen it is all in the same night. Apparently this is a real problem with this brand. I am fearful that there is a short or something that could be dangerous. Should I be worried?

i have two of these fans and the same problem with both. a great fan otherwise, but i don't think i'll be buying hunter anymore --especially since it seems to be a widespread problem that they haven't bothered to fix.

Many times this is caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. And, sometimes changing the frequencies on the remote and receiver reduce the occurrence.

But it sounds like this may not be the case, here. If not, the receiver in the fan is the culprit and should be replaced. No danger, just annoying.

I have a Hunter Ceiling Fan Model No. 27185. I can control the fan with the remote but can not control the lights with the remote. is there some instructions on how to operate the system?

27185 is the model # of the remote. Check to make sure your light wires are connected at the light fixture & receiver. Also, make sure your dip settings are set on the same frequency. Lastly, push the light button & pull the chain on the light.

We got 4 HUNTER ceilin fans in one room. Model 27185-060 with remote FCC ID:IN2TX11 Two of them are runing clocwise another two in opsite side Wat can we do to run all in one direction?

Your Hunter ceiling fan is equipped with a small switch that changes the spin of the blades from clockwise to counter-clockwise. Regardless of the make or model of your ceiling fan, this switch is typically located on the center motor housing where the fan blades are attached. good-day!

I installed a Hunter On"Off fan and light control model 27157 on a Hunter Augusta fan model 21338. I tested the remote control and the fan and light on, however, after a period of time, the fan turns on...

Most likely this is caused by radio interference from some other device nearby. Try changing the "channel" by changing the dip switches on both devices and make sure they match. :)

Light goes on by itself

My solution for intermitent light on/fan off-on: It is not outside interference. It is defective receivers. I took back my second 27185 back to Menards with the exact same problem as the first. I went to Home Depot, bought a Hampton Bay model 191-691 remote unit for $8.00 less with same features and when you turn the lights off then back on, the receiver remembers the brightness level you turned off at. Been installed for a week now with no problems. Hunter would have acted up the first day.

Flickering lights

make sure you have the remotes/receivers set to different jumpers. I installed 2 fans and had the same problem, just had to change the jumpers on one of the fans and the corresponding remote

Fan with remote won't work with wall switch. I

I just recently purchased a hunter ceiling fan w/light and remote. Had it installed and wall switch would not work, only remote. I contacted Hunter company directly about this problem and I was told that they redesigned their fans with remotes so that only the remote works for turning off power to fan. The person who made that made that BRILLIANT change should be fired. So to those of you who own a newer hunter an product with a remote ne your wall switch will not work tat s te reason why.
