You probably have a bad compressor. It's internal parts are held up with 4 springs and one of them has probably broken and causes the compressor piston to hit the side of the comp. housing. This will happen when the ref. shuts off. To be sure, if you turn the ref off at the controls then you should hear the noise in the back. If it is less than 5 years old you can get it replaced under warranty. if more than 5 years old it will just be noisy. it will most likely last several more years like it is. Let me know if I'm right.

Emits a loud coarse noise, about 10 seconds long, intermittently throughout the day & nite

What type of compressor does it have? Some brands use a compressor that makes this sounds every time when it starts up. And its normal. Last for 5-20 seconds.

Fridge makes a fairly loud popping noise at intermittent intervals...otherwise works fine and maintains wine temp as set....makes this noise approx 10-15 times a day....unable to determine any set pattern...

What you are hearing is the new refrigerant going through the system. The old Freon 12 did not make that noise but the new stuff does. Nothing to worry about, it is normal. Thank you for using Fix ya and I hope you found this info helpful.

My refrigetator randomly makes a loud popping sound like a fire cracker. I hear it more at night but can't I'm not sure if it's just because the kids are sleeping and the house is quieter. It is a loud pop...

Hello,

If it's cooling ok, they're probably normal sounds. Modern refrigerators can make many noises, most people aren't home long enough to hear them. A popping sound could be defrost water hitting a hot defrost element, or refrigerant making noise in the cooling lines. If it's working ok, ignore it.

Good luck.......

Loud noise

Check the relay on the side of the compressor. Has a metal clip holding it to the compressor. Check with a volt meter and also check the compressor for voltage. no voltage or low at the compressor replace the relay. You can also take the relay off and shake it. If it makes a rattling sound replace it

Fridge intermittently bangs like very loud champagne cork popping

Sometimes when fridge first starts they can sound like water dripping into hot oil or deep fryer, this is caused by liquid refrigerant returning to compressor which has hot oil in sump, this is normal and no need for alarm, unless the fridge is not keeping temperature.

Right Door is making loud popping noise

After reading these posts, I fixed my refrigerator door in less than 5 minutes. The little black plastic cam on the bottom hinge was loose. To fix it, take the hinge cover off of the top with an 8mm socket, and remove the three 8mm screws holding the top hinge on. Remove the door by lifting up off of the bottom hinge and set it aside. On the bottom hinge is a black plastic cam held on by an 8mm screw. The screw on mine was really loose. Tightening it and putting the door back on made it work like new. You probably don't have a bad cam, just a loose one.
