1. Do you have a backup of your quickbooks from before this started happening? If yes, try opening the backed up quickbooks file.
2. Uninstall Quickbooks 2009 completely, then reinstall it and check of updates and install all of them, then try it again.

I opened my Quickbooks EasyStart 07/08 and it keep closing for some reason. I had not used it in a couple of months, but it was working before. So I reinstalled it. When I accept the agreement, I recieve an error message. "Quickbooks - Unexpected error" It has encountered a problem and must close.
I removed the software, reinstalled it, and the same thing.
