Near the power button there is a smaller button. Instead of power press this button and a menu will appear. You just have to choose BIOS Setup or Boot menu if you just want to change the boot order.

Press Fn +F1. This will get you in the boot menu and Fn+F12 for the BIOS.

SOURCE: lenovo g530 4151 - restore bios from USB or CD ?

Hi, What I would best sugget you if you this kind of issue is to restore your system to its original settings, just look for the small button just beside the power button on your keyboard, it has an arching arrow logo, that key is what we called One Key Recovery that would restore your system to its original factory settings. but just a hint it would also delete everything on your computer so consider bucking up every important files taht you have before proceeding with the recovery. also make sure that the ac adapter is plugin before you press the one key recovery button then it will give the options to choose from, just choose one key recovey then proceed with the factory default recovery, thats it it would now proceed with the system factory default restoration. If you still need some clarifications regarding this issue you could also call the tech support hotline of lenovo

SOURCE: Unable to get into BIOS SETUP

hi there,

On most systems, the key or key combination to press to enter the BIOS program is displayed on the screen when the system boots up, at the time when the BIOS is ready to enter Setup.

take a look at some default keys:-

  • {Delete} (modern Award and AMI BIOSes)
  • {F2} (modern Phoenix BIOSes)
  • {Ctrl}+{Alt}+{Esc}
  • {Ctrl}+{Esc}
  • {Alt}+{Esc}
  • {Ctrl}+{Alt}+{S}
  • {Insert}
  • {F1}

My lenovo G500 window 8.1 is stuck on lenovo brand on the screen. Nothing is working.

  1. Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer.
  2. Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer.
If that does not work it it possibly a faulty DVD rom. if you remove it the computer may boot back up normal.Very common issue on these.

Please help me : :' my pc is lenovo g500 and i forgot password bios who help me please

Hi,

I do google your problem and look to the lenovo G500 manual.
here's the manual says.

sources: http://www.lenovo.com/shop/americas/content/user_guides/g410_g510_ug_en.pdf

BIOS password problems I forgot my password. • If you forget your user password, you must ask the system administrator to reset your user password. • If you forget your HDD password, a Lenovo authorized servicer cannot reset your password or recover data from the hard disk. You must take your computer to a Lenovo authorized servicer or a marketing representative to have the hard disk drive replaced. Proof of purchase is required, and a fee will be charged for parts and service. • If you forget your administrator password, a Lenovo authorized servicer cannot reset your password. Proof of purchase is required, and a fee will be charged for parts and service.

But in my own way of troubleshooting.
1. open your Lenovo G500
2. Check your motherboard and look for bios/cmos battery.
3. Remove the battery
4. Get flat screw driver then put it between two pins where the cmos battery attached.
5. Hold it for 10 to 15 sec.
6. Put the cmos battery back and the motherboard
7. Power it up and holla the bios setting has been reset to default.

How do i access the bios on a lenovo g500 laptop

Hold down the F2 or the Delete key when starting the computer. Press it immediately after pressing the power button and hold it for several seconds. I can't remember which one it is, but one of them will get you into the bios. I believe the Intellikey will work, too.
If I remember correctly, there is a setting to disable (or enable) the USB on these machines. Be VERY CAREFUL when changing bios settings! You can end up with a machine that will not boot! Change only one setting, document the one you changed on a piece of paper, then verify that the change works. That makes it easy to undo a change that brings unexpected results.

I have put in pattern and i forgot it how to open it

I'm going to assume your laptop is an IdeaPad, since you're referring to a touchscreen lock.

If you're running Windows (any version pretty much), you can try downloading the Ultimate Boot CD ( Ultimate Boot CD Download the UBCD ) and using the MS Windows password removal tool.

You'll have to burn the image file you download from the link above onto a CD or DVD, then boot from it on the IdeaPad(?) from which you are locked out.

Lenovo is just a different name for the same part of IBM that made the original ThinkPad notebooks, so if the UBCD doesn't work you might want to try looking for solutions in the Lenovo BIOS (accessed during POST by usually pressing F12 or Enter).

Again, assuming it's Windows you're using, you can always try the startup repair menu accessed by pressing F8 after POST.

Bios Flash

Are you sure you can't access your BIOS, or the OS selection screen?

In most PCs, the BIOS is accessible by DEL or F2, try to run those steps.
If the OS selection option is gone, you have to use another PC to Google the recovery process, and to execute it I am pretty sure you'll be needing your Opensus liveCD.

Hi! Welcome to www.fixya.com.
Removed your power cable and drain power without any power. restart and keep on hitting f12 to get to the boot menu choose ODD then put the OS CD then press enter until its say press any key. If it did not work your other option is reboot and hit f1 or f2 to change the boot sequence on boot option. Restart pc then hit f2 go to boot option and choose DVD/CD to be your first boot option then press f10 restart and it should load automatically.
Hope this resolution fix the problem on your computer. Thanks for contacting Fixya. Bye for now.

Lenovo SL 500 not booting after startup only black screen with cursor is seen

Dude,

Most of the time, the machine booting with the blinking cursor indicates a problem with the HDD itself.

You can do the following:

1) Reseat the HDD
2) Check BIOS boot order and see if the HDD is still recognized at BIOS level
3) Load the BIOS defaults (F1 at boot, then F9, F10)
4) If the HDD is detected at BIOS, try to access Rescue and Recovery on the HDD (F11 key at boot) and try to reload Windows.
5) If problems persist, I'd highly recommend replacing the HDD!!
