I have an HHP IT3800 hand held scanner. The scanner beeps when reading the barcode, but never enters the data into the system. Typing the barcode number into the system via the keyboard works. So, it seems to be a scanner problem. I've had the tech person at the school look at it, and He can't figure out the problem.
I have a IT 3800 Item 3800LR -12 barcode scanner. It has worked all along, albiet sometimes reading incorrectly in about 1 out of 20 scans. But today, it stopped reading completely. The laser light is active, and the trigger workds, but it is not picking up the barcode. I have checked connections, restarted the host computer and not sure what else to try. any suggestions?

Have you scanned the configuration barcodes on the manual? For example if you are using keyboard wedge cable, you will need to scan the keyboard wedge barcode from the manual. Page 20.

You should try downloading the configuration manual from Honeywellaidc, it should probably be there still.
When you have the setup book, search for data transmision options.

If you have the manual, try to cofigure it to USB Keyboard and/or to LAPTOP DIRECT CONNECT. This last option is on page 1-7 in the manual I have with me. Please let me know if it works... Good luck!
