Your shutter is not closing over the lens completely. try taking video, that should be ok. your lens will have to be stripped down to clean the shutter

I have horizontal lines across the screen of my fujifilm f470 camera. what would be the cause of this please

It's a faulty ccd. There are several comments on this website regarding this problem. If it's under warrantee you can return it but otherwise you either have to live with it until the whole thing dies (tapping it might help occasionally) or repair will cost around $100.

Why does my camera show horizontal lines on the pictures taken by the camera with blurred black and white pictures

OK, I read that sometimes the horizontal lines in some cameras comes from the external memory contacts being dirty. If your camera doesn't have an external memory card, then it's got to be an internal board anomaly.

Under FAQ's I did not see a reference to horizontal lines.

select 'RESET' in the 'SETUP' menu it says in the troubleshooting section of the manual.

Horizontal lines appearing in photos

Hi,
Your camera is having horizontal lines due to a faulty CCD, and not due to other problems.
Just tap on the side of the camera at times the horizontal lines will disappear.
If the problem is due to your dropping the camera, you might be out of luck.
If you have not dropped your camera and still facing this problem, then contact service people to replace the CCD imager in your camera .

Hope this helps .

FinePix F470 Lines on images and faded colors on photo mode.

You have over exposed pictures due to the shutter sticking.
The video is the clue to the problem. It doesn't use the shutter.
Shutter needs to be cleaned. This is no easy task im afraid

Horizontal White Lines in Pictures

I don't think [and the museum will certainly say] This has anything to do with the X-ray/storage whilst in the museums hands. It could be a processing error or a memory card error. Try formatting the card in the camera and taking a new batch of images Try another card. This will estasblish card or camera. If card - buy another card If camera -checxk on the price of a repair but I suspect it will mean when you see the price Buy another camera
