I'm assuming the motor works fine. First check this link for the instructional video and check you are doing everything right. (you need quicktime to view these - you can download it from the link if you need it ; http://www.meade.com/educational/ds%20videos/qt_chap1.html Here is the link to the Meade warranty page; http://www.meade.com/support/warranties.html If your scope is no longer under warranty, you can get spares here; http://www.meade4m.com/4mshop/parts/ They have fabulous pictures of all the available parts - Check in the "mount parts" section; They show a DS worm gear assembly, and a DS gear and washer set. You can probably see better than me, but it looks as if the worm gear traverses the scope, and the gear and washers in their housing elevate the scope. There may be more than they show parts for. The real trick will be to make sure you know how to reassemble the gears you dismantle - take a photo every time you remove something so you have a record when the replacement parts arrive. It is not the most complicated gear mechanism, but it is reasonably high precision, and relatively cheap materials, so be very careful or get someone fairly gentle and mechanically minded. If you need help, post me some photos back of what you need help with, happy to oblige. Hope this helps:)

You may need to buy a generic focuser, if you cannot get a replacement from Meade service;

SOURCE: I got a mead ds-114 telescope. & don't know how to use it!
the eye piece that came with your scope is too powerful... look on ebay or a site that sells telescopes. also look at the size of your eye piece holder... my ds-114 came with a 0.96 holder, these are an odd size.. the other size is 1.25 and the eye pieces are much easier to find. try looking at the moon when it is cresent shaped and start from there. if you have the autostar, you have to go through a set up sequence to start. then the scope will track the objects that you select on the goto function. don't give up!
SOURCE: Need user manual for Meade Telstar 76700 telescope
Try this web site for a manual: http://www.meade.com/manuals/index.html.
I did not see the part number 76700 listed but they had several Telstar models listed and did not always show the part number, instead opting to show the model number. If the exact one is not listed, you might find one very close to it.
I hope this helps.
