Technical hotline We just unpacked our Rancilio and read the instructions for set up. Open up the tap by turning knob to the left. Then to switch on main switch and coffee switch. We did this and waited nothing happened. We followed the instructions as per the book. Did we destroy our new machine by following these instructions? What are we suppose to do?

Do you get coffee? If it is just no water/steam, could be a blockge in the steam wand, or blockage in water lines. First test easy one - the steam wand. If the steam wand is o.k- then check for blockages in water lines/components ( pump, boiler, steam boiler). If you do not feel confortable with testing all the untis where water flows, contact Saeco USA Inc. to locate a Service Center near you at 800-933-7876 (toll-free), ask for customer support, or contact SAECO via e-mail at : [email protected]

SOURCE: Red light far right blinking continuosly (#26)

Hi jason,

The flashing red light indicates tha _something_ is not positioned correctly. Please check and see if you can find the sensor(s) that determine whether or not the components are correctly positioned.

You might also try unplugging it for 10-20 minutes to allow any electronic sensors to reset when you reconnect power.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it accordingly.

Thanks in-advance for using Fixya.com,

Jon

SOURCE: Saeco via venezia coffee machine wont prime

Turn machine on and make sure that the knob is fully opened, if the pump does not engage(vibrate) then either the machine is not getting power or there is a problem with the pump.

Bathroom has a chrome radiator with two knobs at the bottom (one on each leg). I turned it off in the summer but now cant turn it on again. I have tried anticlockwise and clockwise and nothing happens. ...

Almost all valves turn to right or clockwies to close and left or counterclockwise to open. You might try spraying some WD-40 on bottom side of knobs.Let it set for a few mins. Tap on top of knobs lightly with a non marring tool such as wooden hammer handle and try to open. If it still wont open you can wrap knob tightly with masking tape or duct tape to protect the finish and use channel lock pliers or pipe wrench to try to open.Don't force it as you could break valve stem. Spray again with WD-40 and repeat above procedure until valve moves freely. Hope this helps. Thanks P:S WD-40 also works well to remove any adhesive left when you remove tape.

I've had my Rancilio Silvia Espresso machine for about a year and a half. I use it every day. Today, it won't heat up. It turns on but will not heat up. Is there a reset button? Help, please.

Hi
There is a reset button inside on the front side of the boiler (you have to take the top of the machine off. There are 4 screws and remove the water tank). It is located between 2 black wires and is a red button. Push it in and test. There is also another problem that you might have. If the brew thermostat is bad it won’t heat. To test for this, push the steam switch and wait 15 seconds. Then open the steam knob and push the middle button and see if the water is warm. If it is then you need a new brew thermostat. That is the thermostat that has the red dot on the top. It sets on top of the boiler next to the steam thermostat. If you take the top off, make sure that the machine is unplugged.
If none of these things work check the heating element with an ohms meter. The reading in the terminals should be from 12 to 16 ohms. If no reading the elements is bad and you have to replace the boiler.

The analogue hands don't show correct time even though the digital time is correct,

Go to "CHR" mode which is the stop watch mode. Pull the mode selector knob, lower right knob. Now all the needles should go 12:00. If not, adjust it using "up" (top right) and "down" (lower left). Select which needles to adjust by top left knob.

I had this watch for almost 10 years and everytime this happened I sent it back for repair. (60 bucks) Finally I open the case my self and the instruction was written on the inside! Hope this helps.

Filling loop is underneath the boiler, easily identified as a chrome coloured braided pipe with a black tap at either end. Open right hand tap first then left hand one . Fill system till presure gauge reads just over 1 bar when system is cold. Then turn both taps off.
