I have the model 108526-01 Remington pole saw which has the round pole with a plastic compression nut (which recently broke). Can I buy the newer octagonal pole and if so, does it use the same saw mounting hardware as the old pole.

I have the sollution, had the same problem with the broken compression nut. Just use two hose clamps, one to hold the pole extended and the other clamps around compression base. Its a cheap easy fix and it work great fo me. The Real Mr.Fixit

You can find the oil cap and bulb assembly but like the original user, I cannot find the compression nut on the pole. It has split and I cannot keep the saw from twisting. Is there a new pole? Is it worth buying? Where do you find one? Thanks, irishgmc

Yes one hose clamp works well enough... just clamp around original compression nut area, (may have to chip off some of old plastic to do so but it works.. ) oil caps can be found but I forgot where.

I have a broken nut on the pole how do i fix it?

RemingtonPower is no longer in production, The "Coupling Nut" was replaced by a "Thumb Latch" neither of these nor the entire pole assembly are available.
You might try this (no promises).

Someone recommended using a hose clamp in place of the nut.
I think these are band-aids and eventually you will need a part that cannot be found.
We rarely get inquiries for McCulloch or Poulan electric units. Might be worth a look.

If you care to try on your own start here:
Remington.com
http://shoppingcart.msservicecompany.com/Default.aspx
  • Type "YourModelNumber" into the "Search for your unit by Model:" window, then click search.
  • Click the “YourModelNumber” - Remington Electric Chain Saw "View Model" link.
  • Click “View Owners Manual” or "View Illustrated Parts Diagram" link.
  • Type "YourPartNumber" into the “Search for your parts by Part #:” window, then click search.

Sometimes you can find NLA parts (use part number for above) offered here:
Master Distributors

Remington has closed its door. Bankrupt. If it has the round locking plastic nut, go to a swimming pool supply house.Same mechanism used of pool cleaning extension pole

The large black outer plastic nut that tightens to hold the saw at desired length has cracked and will not tighten. Can I buy a new one?

What Jerr isn't telling you is the link is worthless. RemingtonPower is no longer in business. Sorry

The part that holds the saw on the pole broke. Model #106890-02

Rick, I'm not sure which model you have, but when I looked up the Wizard parts diagram, I couldn't see any wing nut on the drawing.

It might have been changed to a standard type of hex nut since you purchased your pole saw.

In any event, you should call Master Distributors, as they stock most parts for the Remington chain and pole saws. You can reach them at 1-888-917-2244.

Hope you find this Very Helpful - Best regards!

Where can I find a replacement locking nut for the pole? For 10" Remington pole saw

Without the model number, I can't provide you with the part. However, you can go to masterparts.net and click on the Remington chain saw link and with your model number, get a line drawing and list of all available repair parts and pricing.

They have almost all the parts for even most discontinued Remington chain and pole saws and have a toll free number you can call, once you have your model number to provide them with. 1-866-672-6040
Hope this helps and best regards!
