Is the original computer still around/available? This is for PC (not Mac) right? If so, you can try running a program like SIW. It's free to download. Just run it (no installation needed). SIW will show you a lot of information and it can/might show you the serial #s of your software applications.
Here's the link to download SIW:

Nero should be able to replace your serial number. You'll probably need your receipt. Otherwise, they offer a free trial of nero 9 here;

Because it's not a free program, there's no other legal way to get a serial number beyond the trial versions'. Although be sure and ask Nero about it anyway, even if you don't have your receipt.
HI,
Before you can install Nero 9 you'll need to find the serial number that came with the program. Nero 9 requires that you enter a unique serial number before using it.
If you've lost your serial number, there may be a way to find it as long as Nero 9 is still installed. You might be able to find your Nero 9 serial number if you've uninstalled the program but only if the serial number information was left in the windows registry.
Simply go to Device Manager, delete the entry for your DVD drive and reboot your PC. The OS should automatically install the needed drivers. Usually DVD and CD drivers. The built-in drivers from the OS should suffice.
