Crosley CFUFH20LW Upright Freezer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Aug 04, 2013

I HAVE A CROSLEY FREEZER MODEL # CFUFH20LW. THE DOOR WAS LEFT SLIGHTLY OPEN DUE TO SOMETHING STICKING OUT BEYOND THE SHELF. IT RAN FOR 2 DAYS BEFORE IT WAS DISCOVERED. THE ALARM FOR THE DOOR AJAR AND THE LIGHT SAYING IT WAS AJAR WERE BOTH ENGAGED AT THAT TIME. I UNPLUGGED IT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND WHEN I PLUGGED IT BACK IN THE MOTOR WAS NOT RUNNING AND ALARM WAS STILL BEEPING WITH THE LIGHT TELLING ME THE DOOR WAS AJAR STILL ON. LONG STORY SHORT I UNPLUGGED IT AND CLEANED IT OUT, LEFT THE DOOR OPEN AND LEFT TOWN FOR VACATION. WHEN I RETURNED I PLUGGED IT IN AND IT WAS WORKING. I READ AN ANSWER FROM SOMEONE ELSE AND UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE REASON FOR THIS. THANKS! HOWEVER, THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS STILL ENGAGED AND IT WILL NOT STOP BEEPING . I HAVE REPEATEDLY PUSHED THE ALARM RESET BUTTON , TO NO AVAIL. I DO NOT REALLY CARE ABOUT THESE FUNCTIONS .I JUST NEED THE FREEZER TO BE WORKING,WHICH IT SEEMS TO BE FINE FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS. PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO STOP THE BEEPING.

Cut off the circuit. Everything runs on the system together so you may need to contact someone that knows what they are dong.

How do I replace the lights in my freezer

Turn off the power to the refrigerator/freezer by flipping the appropriate switch in your breaker panel. Alternatively, unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet.
2
Open the freezer door. Remove any items from the shelf directly under the light shield, then remove the shelf.
3
Press down on the top, front edge of the light shield until the locking tabs slip out of the slots. Swivel the light shield downward slightly to release it. Pull the shield out of the freezer compartment and set it aside.
4
Turn the light bulb counterclockwise to remove it. Insert the GE replacement bulb into the light socket and twist it clockwise.
5
Reattach the light shield by sliding it into place. Gently push the tabs into the original slots.
6
Insert the shelf into the freezer and reload it with the frozen food removed earlier.
7
Close the freezer door. Restore power to the refrigerator by flipping on the breaker or plugging it into the wall outlet.

Why is my top shelf freezing up so easily

When opening the freezer door on a hot humid day, you allow this hot humid air inside that freezes on very cold surfaces. Cool your home with AC, it will get rid of the excessive humidity to reduce your freezer problem. The less time the freezer door is opened also helps to reduce the ice buildup.

Freezer door left open will it work again?

yes it must be shut off and completely defrosted.with doors left open it usually takes about 2 days. what happened if you look at the back wall in the freezer from the inside you will see a bunch of ice and there is more behind that panel you are looking at. it froze up the coils so that no air will get through them. good luck rich

Frost build up especially on top shelf all other shelves except one gets a 3 inch layer of ice in approx 4 months. The freezer is kept in a mod temp basement room and the freezer door is opened less than...

Things you can do to cut down on frost.
1.make sure all seals fit flush to frame.
2.use a thermometer and set freezer to -18c(beef will keep upto 12months).
3.wrap all food as airtight as poss.
3.do not overfill, leave space for air flow through drawers/shelves.
4.defrost every 2/3 months in humid conditions using clorine bleach to clean interior, and dry thoroughly.(leave door open to dissipate clorine gas.)

Door was left very slightly open. reclosed but so...

This is normal when compressor starts u can hear some gurgling from evap. from feron flowing. If you hear gurgling only when you close the door it's water in drain pan when you close the door air is forced down drain tube blowing air into water.

Lost vacumn, door popped open alarm on

If is the type of freezer where the shelves are also the evaporator(shelves are very cold and is normal to frost), the fact that only one shelf is iced would indicate the system is low on freon due to a leak. This would also explain the hot walls and compressor. It requires a service man to check the freon level and locate leak and recharge.

Upright freezer door inside developing ice

The door seal is at fault. Regardless of the small tear it is not sealing well.
Take a dollar bill and close it in the door. Then pull on the bill to feel resistance.
You will find it pulls easily in some place. That is where your air leak is that is causing the condensation.
Do this about every 6 inches all the way around the seal.
