I've installed MS-Office 2007, and since then, I can't sync the contacts on my Nokia e71 phone with Outlook. It keeps giving an error message on the log: "Failed to open Outlook". I didn't hvw this problem before on Outlook 2003.
Re: can't synchronize my contacts with Outlook 2007
First you have to open Outlook 2007 , and set it up with email and all , than sync the phone and in the sync settings allow access to Outlook and you will be all set

MICROSOFT 2007 WORKS PEACEFULLY ON SERVICE PACK 2,THE ONLY THING IS YOU SHOULD VE ATLEAST 1 GB RAM TO ACCESS IT SMOOTHER AND JUST BEFORE YOU INSTALL M.S 2007,REMOVE THE OLDER VERSION(M.S 2003)FROM UR P.C AND THEN INSTALL IT.......USING M.S 2007 YOU CAN SAVE THE DOCUMENT IN M.S.2003 FORMAT ALSO,AND M.S 2007 HAS VARIOUS OPTIONS WHICH IS HELPFULL TO U THAN M.S 2003...
Tangnrock, for you to be able to upload your phone contacts to your pc, you'll need to get some things ready, Firstly, you need to install your phone pc software, pc suite if you're using either a nokia or a sonyericsson. You should also install Microsoft Office Outlook (Outlook 2003 or 2007 will do).
Then using your pc suite, synchronize your phone with your pc (you can do this by running pc suite) and then synchronize your pc suite with outlook (by choosing outlook to manage your phone data in your pc suite setup).
Thats all.
Remember you'll need either your phone usb cable or pc blutooth to sychronize your phone with your pc.
I had a similar problem just now. I fixed it by doing the following:
1. In the Blackberry Desktop manager, click the Synchronize link
2. Click the Configuration tab
3. Click Configure synch...
4. Double click the Contacts transfer (Device<--Outlook)
5. Make sure you have "Replace destination data" selected
6. Then perform the synchronization again.
Note, I am writing this from memory, not by looking at the computer step by step, so some of the wording for the screen instructions may be paraphrased.
LG Outlook Sync
is a utility to synchronize your MS Outlook data with your LG devices.
The current LG Outlook Sync supports enV 3(VX9200) and enV
Touch(VX11000) only. LG Outlook Sync does not support old LG devices. *
1. Go to Outlook and save your 957 contacts in
an outlook file.
2. Delete the 507 contacts you don't want to synchronize to your phone and save your outlook
under a different file name (e.g. Addr450).
3. Connect the phone to the PC.
4. Open Nokia PC Sync.
5. In the Nokia PC Sync dialog, click Synchronise Now. The Create Settings wizard opens.
6. On the first page of the wizard, select the PIM application you want to synchronise the phone with from the drop-down list. You can choose Outlook Express, Outlook 2000, outlook 2002 or Outlook 2003 as your PIM. Follow the instructions on screen to finish the wizard process.
HTH.
I was having the same problem, and I used Detect and Repair in Outlook. Now all is working fine. You will need the original CD that you installed from.
Hope this helps as none of the other things that I saw on any sites did until I tried this.
Click on the hotsync icon in your system tray and then click "custom". That will bring up the list of things you are configured to sync with (conduits). For each of the ones you have problems with, click that conduit and then make sure it's set to sync the way you want...desktop overrides, handheld overrides, syncronize, etc. Potentially you have some of them selected as "do nothing". What shows up when I click custom from hotsync are the following Outlook Conduits: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos. If you don't have those showing up, you need to update your Outlook conduits on your PC. If you have them, click to select the problem conduit, then click "change" and select what you want to have happen.
