Connecting a sonos 90 to BO 8000 active speakers

Hi
I have a Sonos system set up with a zoneplayer that has a pair of rca outputs. I fancy connecting up a pair of B&O speakers to it to save buying amp. I understand these speakers use a powerlink1 cable.
Firstly is it possible to get a powerlink to twin rca cable to work? Secondly is there a connecting cable between these speakers or is a second powerlink cable needed from the source? I have been searching for a rear view of these speakers but can't find one.
Thanks Alan

Beolab 8000 speakers have a line input ( rca phono) which is switched at the rear connection, this is monitored for sound so will turn on/off on their own.you must use a pre-amp or a variable volume output as a source.

Does your sonus system has pre-out? you can directly connect one single rca cable to each output into the speakers. make sure, each speakers is set to left and right each channel. these switches can be found above the rca input of the beolab 8000 next to the power link input. You have to understand that by using powerlink source cable is ideal only for other bang&olufsen equipments......however, there are other options, if u don't have a pre-amp output of your amplifier, you can also modify the speaker out of the amp, thru a conversion cable available from bang & olufsen, with an rca cable left and right channel, without interfering with the powerlink.

Sonos is not working properly

There could be several reasons why your Sonos system is not working properly and the audio is not stable. Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check your internet connection: A poor internet connection can cause audio dropouts or interruptions. Ensure that your Wi-Fi signal is strong and your internet connection is stable.
  2. Restart your Sonos system: Try turning off your Sonos system, unplugging it from the power source and plugging it back in after a few minutes. This may help resolve any software glitches that could be causing the issue.
  3. Update your Sonos system: Check if there are any software updates available for your Sonos system and update it to the latest version. This may fix any bugs or glitches that could be causing the issue.
  4. Check your Sonos speakers: Ensure that your Sonos speakers are positioned correctly and are not obstructed. Make sure they are connected to the network and functioning properly.
  5. Check the network settings: Check if your Sonos system is on the same network as your other devices. You can also try resetting your router and Sonos devices to fix any network issues.
If none of these solutions work, you may want to contact Sonos customer support for further assistance.

How do i connect sonos " control " to denon avr 300. Where are audio output on this denon?

The AVR-E300 doesn't have an audio output. It's a very basic AV receiver built down to a price.

Even if you has a better quality receiver, you still would only be able to port sound from analogue sources (ones connected via red & white RCA/phono) to the Sonos Connect for distribution around the rest of your home. AV receivers don't decode audio from HDMI sources to analogue stereo.

If you want to port sound, hook up a source direct to the Sonos Connect's audio input. Don't try going via the receiver.

Can I connect my sonos zp120 to my home receiver

Hello. Yes you can use it. The receiver will have a wired output that you would use to connect to your receiver. Without knowing exactly what makes and models you have, I have have to know that first before I could tell you exactly what your connection options you have, but not to worry, there will be 1 or more methods by which you can connect it.

Dave

How do you connect a sonos connect to a wired sound system

Basically it will act like a CD or TAPE input. You can either use RCA or Optical (i believe) and just plug it into an existing input slot. The key is that for Sonos you will need to have a Sonos Bridge or an existing Sonos Player.

Is there any way to hook up a sonos zp120 to the bose 901's without using an amp

No speakers will run without an amp.

The Active Equalizer must be somehere in the Line Level path between any source and whatever amp is exclusively driving Bose 901's, which makes the ZP120 useless as a networked music delivery system becuase everything IT outputs would be 901-encoded - unless you had 901's in every room.

The Sonos neither knows nor cares what processes are applied to the signal before it arrives through the Line Level inputs but the digital audio/ethernet route lacks anywhere to insert ANY analog processing, so 901's will not work with the ZP120 if the music originates elsewhere.

I'm not so sure how the claimed 55 watts would work out for 901's. I'd take that specification with huge grain of salt as this unit only weighs about 5 lbs.

I have 5 zone player 120's (Sonos) and they get very hot and overheat. Any solutions? They are stacked on eachother in a cabinet

The units need to separated and moved out of the cabinet into an open area, with no obstructions to the chassis vents.

Sonos won't play when attached

Attach the analog RCA output of the Sonos to the CD input of your receiver. On the receiver select CD is the input. Now turn the volume up on both the Sonos and the Receiver. Dont forget to make sure some music is playing on the Sonos.
Good luck
