Canon mx300 printer feeder pulls unevenly causing paper jam

As it starts to feed...the left side of the feeder pulls the paper...but only the left side (my right facing the printer) pulls and of course, a paper jam occurs.

The roller maybe sticky and cause the paper not to feed evenly. Clean the rollers with methylated spirits.

Paper feeds incorrectly the feeder is pulling to the left and causing the paper to jam or to tear.

Sometimes dried ink on the roller causes it to incorrectly "grip" the paper, making it slip in one section and pull to the side, Check the rollers for Ink and other dirt.
Also try less paper in the feeder, it may simply be too much and is not able to feed it correctly.
Hope this helps GM

The printer keeps telling me it's out of paper, which it isn't

1> Open the sheet feeder cover and pull out the paper support.

Set paper, aligning the right edge of the paper to the cover guide with the paper's print side facing up.

Pinch and slide the paper guide to the paper's left side.

Note: Make sure to set paper lengthwise. Setting Credit Card sized paper long-side down by mistake may cause a paper jam.

Pull down the paper output tray supporting with both hands.

Pull out the extension completely.

Ensure that the Power lamp and the Auto Sheet Feeder lamp light.

Note: If the Cassette lamp lights, press the Paper Feed switch to light the Auto Sheet Feeder lamp.
If the Auto Sheet Feeder lamp does not light even after pressing the Paper Feed switch, Paper Source in the printer driver may be set to the setting other than Paper Feed Switch.

Hi....hard time with your Canon... It possible you have a paper jam inside you unit.. at the back you will see a endle in both side take off the tray and look for paper jam., also check where you feed the paper if you don't have anything like paper clip pencil jam it inside the feeder

The paper is not feeding through. it is getting caught on one side, then jamming

the roller on one side isn't picking the paper while the one on the other side is. Hwnce the uneven pull on the paper force the paper sideways and then jams.

This is usually caused by dust in the interior of the printer so try this:-

This is sort of scenario could be caused by dust inside the printer. Dust prevents the rollers from having a firm grip on the paper while picking paper. When one roller has a firm grip and rolls the paper well while the other doesn’t, jam/crumpling results. So I will suggest you get a long handle brush and try to reach as far inside the printer as possible and brush (from the back and front; if you have a blower please use it as well). This, if properly done should do it. Brush especially the rollers etc.

Paper feed on Canon i 350n ink jet printer

If the paper is lodged too far into the printer and can't be removed:
Press the power button to turn the printer off.
Pull firmly on the paper to remove it. If you can't reach the paper because it is too far in, raise the front cover and remove the paper from the front of the printer.
Close the front cover.
Press the power button to turn the printer back on.
Resend your document to print.

Ensure that:
The paper is a recommended paper for inkjet printers.
You do not force the paper down into the printer when you load it. For example, if you are loading letter or A4 size paper, the top edge of the paper should extend above the top of the sheet feeder.
The printer is on a flat, level surface.
The left paper guide is against the side of the paper.
You do not load too much paper in the sheet feeder. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the sheet feeder can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
The left paper guide does not cause the paper to bend in the sheet feeder.
Your printer feeds regular paper as expected. If regular paper feeds without causing problems, load the envelopes vertically against the right side of the sheet feeder. Make sure the paper guide is against the side of the envelopes.
Envelopes or the appropriate specialty papers are selected in the printer driver.
You are using a paper or envelope size supported by your printer.

Paper Mis-Feeding

Check for any pieces of torn paper in the path, especially on the left side. You can also reach into the slot that the paper feeds into and feel each of the rollers behind the plastic cover; they all should turn freely, pay special attention to the wheel to the left.
