The directv needs hookedup to the tv, also the dvd player needs hooked up to the back of the tv, what type of cabling are you using, red/white/yellow or coax (where it screws in) or does it plug in and say hdmi, etc.

JVC TV WONT KEEP IMAGES ON

Change input device to some other like a DVD player and see.
Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
If problem persists, call in a qualified service technician.

Hello

plug in and tighten the connections on the back of the DVD player, the television and any amplifier, if there's no picture or sound. Plug the DVD player's outputs into the amplifier's inputs. Then plug the amplifier's outputs into the television's inputs. Sometimes the amplifier is called a receiver.

We have a SAMSUNGA LCD TV. We also have a

You indicated you have a DVD PLAYER, not DVD recorder. You cannot record on to a DVD on a player, you need to buy a DVD recorder/player. Unlike a VCR which stands for Video Cassett Recorder which can record and playback video. DVD recorder technolgy much more complicated.

No picture on new Dynex 42" lcd hdtv

Do you have cable or DVD player connected yet? If not, connect your cable to the back of the LCD via Coaxial cable. Next turn channel to 3 or 4 whatever channel you use for cable. Then use auto programming to find all of your cable channels. If no cable connect the DVD outputs to one of the AV 1 or Av2 inputs on the back of your LCD. Power on the DVD player and change your input to which ever AV you connected it to. You should see a blue screen and your DVD Player Icon.

42 inch proscan lcd

If you use the connections for DVD you must use all of them.If you are using the standard yellow, white, and red connectors connect them to the connections listed as video and not the DVD titled connectors. But my advise is get an up converting DVD player and use a HDMI cable to get the best picture with out having to brake the bank buying a Blue Ray. I once connected a DVD player to my TV in the same fashion before finding out it only gives you a purplish black and white picture. Up converting DVD players can be bought around 30 dollars and up. A 6 ft HDMI cable will cost around 15 dollars. This way you will be getting the full effect and great picture your TV can produce.
