Dishwasher did not drain out all of the water

GE Dishwater has standing water in the bottom.  We had our septic system back up a week ago and water was not draining from out house.  We replaced the pump in the tank and cleared a fill line.  Now that I look at the dishwasher, I ''assume'' that the water could not drain out all the way during the septic system issue, so water remained in the bottom of the unit.
How do I get it to drain out all the way?

Run it again on the hot cycle...if that doesn't work...you have a clogged drain hose or a defective pump.

Dishwater goes from sink to bottom of dishwater

you need to tie up the drain hose under the sink above where it connects to the drain spigot to stop the sink water flowing down into dishwasher instead of the drain. A blockage in the sink drainage can also make the condition worse.

Doesn't clean dishes, spray arms and filter look ok. Melted crayon in there a couple weeks ago?

Hello- This unit has a sump at bottom of tub that can get blocked, causing low or no water flow. Remove racks, water tube, and the accumulator cover to get to it. Clean the strainer and chopper screen. This should solve the problem. Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed. -Thanks- Ed

Sink dishwater intrusion

Hello- Find drain hose from dishwasher under sink. Should have gooseneck ~ in hose run to keep water from getting back into dwshr. Does full sink drained all at once push water into tub? Sometimes stuff not disposalled yet blocks drainage. Older motors can tend to become weak with age, not pumping as much water out of tub as it used to.Anyway- Hope this helps- ED

My Dishwasher works but still leaves some standing water.

Check the filter unit located at the bottom (inside) rear for clogging. Sometimes food will accumulate in the filter and not allow the unit to completely drain.

KitchenAid dishwasher allows water to drain while washing

Your dishwasher is siphoning the water out. The drain hose should turn upward, nearly to the bottom side of the counter top, before it attaches to the drain or disposal. If it has an independant drain it still needs the rise and also needs an air break to stop the siphoning.

Dishwasher drains but leaves behind about 1/2" of standing water

Water standing in the bottom of the tub is normal.
A small amount of clean water around the outlet on the tub bottom at the back of the tub keeps the water seal lubricated.

A serviceman just solved the problem in 10 minutes. It is the valve inside the dishwater at the back. It got worn after five years. Cost me 8$ plus the call.
