Hi bought 4805 on ebay and works fine but it was very dim. i took it apart to clean the light path and now 1/3 of the screen is wonderfull and the rest is dim. so in cleaning i touched on something to improve it's output. it seems to me to be an alingment problem. the image is clear and very good quality. it seem like all of the light from the bulb is not going through. thank you very much for any help, i'm in the dark on this problem
hey man since i first posted this i really was at my witts end.i took it apart to look again and found the square mirror tube had come apart. i glued it together but picture was still crappy.but everytime i played with it it changed the quality. since you can't buy a new one i thought long and hard on how to fix this. it came to me one day. i bought a flouresent bulb reflector form a aquarium shop made of 1/16 polished aluminum. cut and bent a piece installed it and problem solved. now clear bright fantastic picture a full 92" wide screen. best of all is the reflector will cost you about $10.

I am having the same problem and most people are telling me its a light tunnel problem with it being out of align. im still looking into how to fix that hope this might have atleast narrowed the problems down.
the light tunnel is the black tube like thing thats right beside the color wheel. about 2cm long and it has lenses inside of it.

It will be the light tunnel. Apparently it is very common in the 4805. See here for how to fix it, by the way you cant get parts so its a DIY job. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=6744737#post6744737
sounds like you have a number of problems.
a. hazard lights and no head lamp dimming and no turn indicator, most likely the multi function switch has failed. but check the bulbs first.
b. head lamp bulb is burnt
c.side mirror switch is disconected or has failed
the light tunnel is collapsing and needs replacement. the part itself is relatively inexpensive, but you have to be careful if you want to replace it yourself. it's under the colorwheel, which is delicate. when you remove the top, front, and rear panels, remove the colorwheel (which is between the lens and the lamp) and carefully set it aside. there are 2 screws holding the light tunnel bracket in place. remove them and the bracket. pull out the pieces of the tunnel (little rectangles of mirror) and replace with a new one. reverse the steps to put it back together. by the way, you can get the part from any infocus authorized service center (check the infocus website for the one closest to you). part # 306-0095-01
Hi, Make sure you have no wires chaffing against the frame or threads of bolts along the wires' path. Make sure your connections are clean and tight.
If you have a multimeter, take some resistance readings and also, ensure that all your grounding wires are in good shape and tighten any bolts or screws along the way.
Measure across the leads of the headlight, if it reads -infinity- (ohms) the bulb needs replacing, if you get a reading the bulb is fine and you need to start looking elsewhere...
I had the same problem bought a replacement screen on ebay, search on you tube for instructions on pulling 750 apart and replacing screen only took 5 minutes and it works. If I can do it anyone can.
It sounds like you have mounted the replacement light tunnel incorrectly. It is a common error. What has happened is you have the light tunnel sitting on yop of the positioning stop which is opposite from the color wheel side. If you take it back apart you will see that it's not laying parallel to the casting. if you reposition it so it is just touching where the opening is in the clamp on the color wheel side you will feel it fall into place.
On your flame travel tube sometimes something gets in that and blocks the path. Now this is what I found one time when same problem happened.
I took it apart and found a dead **** roach in the path. Took the bug out and it worked perfectly.
I don't think you have to take it apart just take something and run in the path like a tooth pick or a small screw driver. Maybe a air compressor air gun just enough to blow the path out. let me know if that helps you. ken
I hope this is what you are talking about as I read your post 2 or 3 times to get a idea of what it is exactly.
No unfortunately they won't sell that separatelly to the public. If you send it in for repair they WILL replace the lens and it WILL cost you a arm & a leg.
