SOURCE: 94 jeep grand cherokee oil pressure and engine temp?
I'm guessing your engine is'nt making any tapping noise with the low oil press.
Your oil pressure sending unit is most likely the culprit.
Is your car smoking when the temp. goes up?
You engine could be air bound or thermostat could be opening too late (might need new one).
PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE RADIATOR CAP WITH A HOT ENGINE.

sounds like a security issue they installed a factory security system which will prevent the vehicle from running unless its reset go to passenger door lock turn key twice it worked for me after chasing other problems for a few hours

Starter...if the starter is old, it is getting heat soaked. Replace the solenoid.

SOURCE: Very rough idle on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition V8
If you haven't changed the plugs or had the fuel system cleaned, now would be a good time to do it. The number 1 culprit for rough idles is dirty injectors or plugs. You can try an injector cleaner in a can (or bottle) for under $10 and see if it helps, and then work from there. If there isn't any improvement then if you are able to, check the plugs for any gunky buildup and if you find a bad plug, make sure you replace them all (or have them replaced) at the same time.

I have THE EXACT SAME problem with the exact same JEEP GC except its a 1999. I have replaced the crankshaft sensor; fixed a boot on exhaust leak detection system. Self diag codes are P 0443 and 0308. the NO KEY lites up; dash gauges go dead like its anti theft system. I had ignition replaced before this started happening... it like I'm in that reality show "BAIT CAR". I understand that starter-solenoid is one part for these cars. I'm wondering if anti theft system is running parallel on this same circuit--i.e. no key lite refers to this system and a short is on this line.
