Remove the water line in the back of refrigerator going into the ice maker - its likely the line froze. Once thawed (about an hour) put the water line back on and cycle the ice maker - you should hear the water go into the ice maker.
YOU COULD HAVE A BAD WATER VALVE OR YOUR TANK IS CLOGGED UP AND STOPPING THE WATER FLOW THROUGH THE LINES. MOST MODELS HAVE A TANK IN THE BACK OF THE SHELVES ON THE REFRIGERATOR SIDE DOWN AT THE BOTTOM. IT WILL BE LOCATED BEHIND A PANEL YOU WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE SHELVES AND SCREWS TO GET TO IT BUT FIRST CHECK VALVE SOME SYSTEMS HAVE MULTI VALVES WHERE ON CONTROLS THE ICE MAKER AND THE OTHER ON THE DISPENSER.
In effect the only thing different is you moved the fridge and switched the water off. Make sure the water is getting to the fridge pipes connected to the fridge valves.(normally blue in colour.). If not rectify problem. If water is there, suggest you remove water filter in the fridge compartment and by pressing the water dispencer button see if water runs out at the filter adaptor. If not, there is an issue with the solonoid valve/s (very unlikely thougf) Could very possibly be the water is frozen and needs defrosting. Because there are variables that i havent been given, im surmising a lot. Normally when you depress any of the dispencing buttons,a clicking sound will be heard from the solonoids at the back. Simply the water should flow up the pipe to the filter then to the dispencer outlets. Most of the time, the water is either off or filter is blocked or limit switches at dispenser end is faulty. Very unlikely that both are defective at once so check the filter and water supply. If stuck, email me on [email protected]
If it will kick a batch out if you add some water to it then your water valve needs replacement. if it has ice in it but wont spit any out then your ice maker is bad. Some nice repair pictures: HERE
1.Bad water valve located in the back bottom of refrigerator.
2. Frozen fill tube going into back of ice maker. (common problem)
3. Ice maker not cycling. Pour water into ice maker cavity until near filled.
Wait a few hours and see if it dumps.
4.In rare cases, the switch in the ice maker body fails. Ice maker will cycle but not tell water valve to refill.
There is one water valve but two solenoids, one for the icemaker and one for the water dispencer. If power is getting to the solenoid then replace the water valve. No power getting to the solenoid then the switch at the dispencer is bad.
