Spin cycle will not spin

The spin cycle never kicks in.  It tries to alternate back and forth a litle bit, but never spins at all.
What is the R supposed to be across the fuse.  I suspect hat it is either the controller board or a blown fuse.

It is possibly the pcb control board that has gone, the motor spin relay should be incorporated in it which sounds to have gone faulty.

How to find out if belt needs replacement on a whirlpool WTW4800X02

Does it agitate? That is does it spin back and forth during the wash cycle ok? The agitate and spin are through the same drive belt, so if it does one and not the other its probably not a belt or motor issue. When it gets to the spin cycle does it try to spin, do you hear the motor or anything run or the drum try to spin?

Agitator does NOT spin along w/ drum during spin cycle

If this is the old style that uses a belt, it is not worth fixing. But the problem sounds like the wig-wam is not functioning properly. Most of the time it was a wire broken since it moves back and forth constantly.

When washer goes to spin cycle starts a loud noise, like hiting

you are holding down the lid switch, and being sure that it is heald all the way down at all times while performing this test.
it sounds like the brake is kicking in because the lid switch is being released,
if you are holding the lid switch and it doesnt start to spin, try to assist the basket a bit, if it begins to spin a bit you would need a new clutch because it is saturated in oil. did you notice any oil when replacing the coupling?
but worst case senario would be a transmission.

Washer will not go into final spin

Hello there.

The buzzing sound it probably a coin or something stuck in the pump causing it to rattle. Also, it's probably preventing all the water from draining out causing the machine to not enter the final spin cycle, since all the water needs to drain for that to happen.

It's kind of simple to clean the pump.
All you have to do is take the 2 or 3 screws off the bottom of the kick-plate and then take the pump screen off, also known as a coin trap. Clean everything and then try to run it again. I'm almost certain this is your problem.

I get a lot of calls regarding this type of situation. Please try that and see what it does before calling a certified service technician. It can save you $120.
Oh and thanks for using fixya.com. We appreciate your query.

Kicks out?

the smaller belt is causing the tub to spin too quickly. the shorter belt is causing the motor to overheat and causing the thermal overload protector to shut dowqn the motor. when the motor cools it starts up again. replace the belt with te correct size and that will solve your problems

No spin

you say the machine is tryng to drain. does in drain? if it doesn't the pressure (fill) switch is preventing it from spinning because there is too much water (weight) in the tub
