HOW DO I UPGRADE A HT-BD2 SYSTEM? I PUT A BLUE RAY DISC IN TO PLAY AND IT SAID I NEEDED TO UPGRADE MY SYSTEM. CAN YOU HELP? JUST PURCHASED MY SYSTEM IN DEC. OF 2008
There are two ways to approach this. You can either download the update from Samsung's support page, burn it onto a CD, place the CD into your Blu-Ray player and let the update load...or you can connect your Blu-Ray player to the internet and let the player download and install the update automatically.
The second approach is detailed in the HT-BD2 User's Manual (pages 46-49). It requires you to first plug a network cable into the back of your Blu-Ray home theater unit, then connect the other end into a LAN connection on your wall (or into the back of your cable/DSL modem) Page 26 of the user's manual shows you how to make the connection.
Trie the 1st method and the CD doesn't load to the player - says unable to load!Trie the 1st method and the CD doesn't load to the player - says unable to load!

i have a samsung htbd2 lost the remote 4 it.but i have a universal remote 4 my lg tv could i use tthat same remote to run my ht/bd2 aswell? cos i have tried playing it through the ht/bd2 mail unit but keeps coming up with a red circle with a line through it please can you help me?
All u need to do is to visit the manufacturer website, you will see a link "download driver upgrade". Download this upgrade and store it in a flash (if your player has a usb port) or just burn it on an empty CD.
Insert the CD or flash drive into your player, the system recognizes the upgrade and automatically installs it..and you are good to go
Use an optical cable and then it should work just fine. Just saw Avatar from my PS3 through the Samsung HT-BD2 and the sound was excellent.
So go and buy an optical cable :)
My problem is to get the BD2 to download updates. It doesn´t seem to work for me.
When I tried to play a Blu-Ray Wall-E disc on my Sony DBP-S50, I got a message that I needed to update the java inside the player before it would play the menus and the movie. I think there might have been a website suggested on the screen before the disc stopped working, or it may have been on or in the dvd's box.
You will need to find the firmware upgrade online, follow its instructions to burn it onto a disc, and then run that disc in your bluray player to fix your problem.
I cannot tell you where to get the disc to upgrade your player, because you have not mentioned the brand and model of player you have, and this message is posted in the PlayStationPortable section of this website.
You need a software upgrade. If your blu-ray is lan connected you can upgrade from the blu-ray, just follow the menu. If you have no internet connection, use your PC. On the manufacturers web site find your model and download a firmware update to cd, then play this in your blu-ray, follow the on screen menu. Good luck
New Blu Ray home theater player can not play new Blu Ray movies according to Samsung customer support. It is a JAVA code issue and they are working on a software upgrade. No release date is known. I tried playing The Hulk, Ironman and Wanted. None would play.
Hi there Michael, here is the link for the new firmware
