If it's a small rectangular magnet that appears, in our case, fell out, when you add detergent, softener, etc...the magnet goes on the right hand bottom corner of the drawer face, straight up and down, not sideways. this is evidently some type of sensor allowing the washer to start. we had an error code of "ddo" when the magnet fell out.
Magnet located here at end of fingertip
It's on the far right hand side of the drawer...NOT the middle. don't know what you're thinking here.
On the door
I just had this happen today. The magnet is located in the front plastic facing that pops-off the drawer (you should see a couple of plastic "legs" along the bottom edge of the drawer face). Once you unclip the face, there is a small rectangular spot in bottom/middle of the face. Put the magnet in there and clip the drawer face back on. Cheers
Be aware that the resistance is often the part that requires repair. Resistance is managed magnetically, so often if the machine is working, but the resistance isn't setting correctly or at all, check the bolts that secure the magnets. If they are loose, the resistance will slip. If the bolts are fine, check the magnets themselves by using a refrigerator magnet and see if it is attracted or repelled by the your fridge magnet. If not, the magnets have de-magnetized and need to be replaced.Test with the magnet from a refrigerator, If the magnet attract and repulse, is o.k If not replace the magnet.

I cannot seem to locate the "legs" onto which attach the magnet on the dispensor drawer.
Actually, I should say that there are several places where the magnet might go and am not sure to which box is being referred.
