Hi i have a pair of numark tt200 and they make a slight knocking sound when they are spining and noise gets a bit louder when a vinyl is held still. The platter still moves fine i think. if that is a fault how do i fix it? im not sure if this is normal because i bought them second hand.

i recently bought a pair of numark tt 200s and one of them had this problem, but because i bought them from cash converters i took them back and the technician there had a look at it and said it was the motor.
But he didnt say whether the motor could be repaired or whether it needed to be replaced.
I Have not had any luck in solving this problem yet
UNFORTUNATLY IT IS PROBABLE A SPIN BEARING THAT IS MAKING THE NOISE. THIS IS USUALLY CAUSED BY A LITTLE WATER LEAKING FROM THE CENTER SEAL ONTO IT. IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIXED AND VERY TIME CONSUMING, PLUS YOU WILL NEED SPECIAL TOOLS DESIGNED FOR THE JOB
I need Service Manual on Nuwmark TT200, turntable, motor inop, Ic TA7259P need to know the layout, has power supply voltage an regulators seems to be ok, comes on but motor inop.
Thanks David Williams Email [email protected].
since you have a direct dirve, your motor speed control circuitry is likely failing. The only other chance is some dried up grease dragging on the platter and thus the motor but this is unlikely un such a young turntable.
It will probably be cheaper to replace than to repair this problem...
