Freezer cold, my fridge wont cool up to 65 now
I've had the same problem and it is the thermister inside the freezer compartment. There is probably a ice build up there too. remove the 2 screws and check, you can fix this yourself and save $100 bucks.
No problems on the Maytag fridge since replacing the thermister. Make sure though, you replace the thermister and coil Maytag part only, It is sold as one unit and snaps on and off easily, don't forget to remove the ice buildup. If the fridge is still not cooling, check the rubber seal around the door. Open the freezer side and check the seal all around for any gaps. Mine the seal was not screwed right and the seal was not setting correctly. Also, check to make sure the fridge doors are straight, they might be warped slightly causing and improper seal Those fridges are known for that.

i have maytag side by side model # msd245grq...have on level 8 and still does not seem to get cold enough....is there a way to get freon recharged or do i just have to replace the unit??? freezer works great....please help me....
My refrigerator isn't cooling and now the freezer isn't freezing. The compressor is running but is there suppose to be air blowing into the back top of the freezer?
