I have a maytag neptune top load washer and it will not go past the first wash cycle. It gets to a certain point and then it spins for 5 seconds and stops and then spins agin for 5 seconds and stops. It continues to do this for hours. I have changed the control board and the motor control board. When I stop it manually there is still water in the bottom. I have checked the hoses and in service mode I can pump the water out with the pump. What else could this be? The pressure switch? or What? Any advice would be appreciated. The washer is Model FAV6800AWW.
All functions operate normally except the machine will not agitate.
The agitator is driven
by a couple of different methods. The first is the agitator is splined
and slips onto the matching splines of the agitator shaft from the
transmission. The second is the use of a bell coupling which is splined
to the agitator shaft as well and the agitator snaps onto the coupling.
If the agitator does not agitate, first remove the agitator and watch
the agitator shaft to see if it is working properly. This will require a
small load setting of water and the machine set to run. If the agitator
shaft is working properly, it is either the splines on the agitator or
the bell coupling that is defective. If the agitator shaft does not
work properly, the problem is in the transmission.

This washer doesn't have a tradional agitator. It has two rotating agitatiors on the side walls of the tub. My problem is when I put the wash cycle to run it gets to the end and somthing clicks and then the tub turns again and clicks. It seem like it is trying to get the pump to turn on and to go into a spin cycle but it doesn't.
